LITTLE WOMEN - LOUISA MAY ALCOTT

An unusual title for my post but that is the challenge for us over at the Library Challenge with a lovely image for inspiration.

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

My thoughts immediately turned to an old SU stamp set called Winter Post and it is one of my all-time favourites from about 2008 I think. I think it's the first time I've used this one this year also!   I decided to do a square card for a change - I used some water colour paper for my scene.  I used Tim Holtz distress inks and oxide inks and wanted to keep the colour soft as in the picture above.  I used SU water colour pencils to colour in my skaters and added some snowflakes and gems.  The sentiment is from an old set I don't know the name.

I layered it onto a piece of white card stock embossed with snowflakes and then added it to the grey card stock.

I'm also adding this into the following challenges:

The Holly and the Ivy - Anything Goes
Retro Rubber - Tic Tac Toe - I used the vertical middle line
Double D Challenge - what's your style? - This one is definitely vintage/nostalgia

I'm excited that this card was chosen this week as one of the Favourites over at SplitCoast Stampers

My card was also in the Top 5 at The Holly and the Ivy Christmas Challenge

How cleverly you've built this beautiful scene and yes, it has a very nostalgic feel to it.Thanks for joining The Library.

I love the watercolor look of your background. It makes the card look from the period.
