Saturday Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge.  The sketch we are working with this week was chosen by the lovely Jillian Sellwood who gave us this to work with.

No automatic alt text available.

A little sneak peak from me for the forthcoming Winter Catalogue which goes live on 1st September - not long now to wait.  This is a gorgeous little set called Hearts Come Home - I've used some of our Color Theory Designer Series Paper as the background and stamped some stars on it and covered some of them in Dazzling Diamonds.  All Christmas cards have to have glitter - it's a must!  The roofs of the houses have Wink of Stella on them and some of the windows have a touch of Daffodil Delight to signify lights.

I've used the Stitched Framelits to cut out the shapes and added the middle one with dimensionals.

I hope you pop along on the blog to see what the rest of the team have made - click on the link below to go forwards to Lisa's Blog

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - WWC133 - Penny's All About Christmas

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

Hello and welcome to another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I'm so excited to share this project with you as I'm actually giving you a little sneak peak of two of our new Christmas stamp sets.  These two were my favourite out of the new catalogue which goes live on 1st September and, although they don't necessarily go together, they make a great match!  All will be revealed on 1st September.

I've used some gorgeous Night of Navy as my background cardstock and all the elements have been embossed with Silver Embossing powder.  I've used Whisper White cardstock and tore the edges to give the effect of a snowy background and just did a little light sponging around the edges at the top with the Night of Navy.  The houses are stamped using Crumb Cake and I've coloured in some of the windows with a touch of Daffodil Delight to represent lights.  The Trees are stamped with Pear Pizazz and the cute little smoke out of the chimenys is Basic Grey.

I hope you visit the rest of the Design Team and leave a comment - we love to hear from you all.  I look forward to seeing all your lovely Christmas cards - its getting closer!!!!

I'm going to add my card into the Addicted To Stamps challenge which this week is Anything Goes and Inkspirational Challenge - which is asking for a wave.  My torn paper looks like a snow wave! Is there such a thing?

BOOKCASE BUILDER/COLOURFUL SEASONS - BABY CARDS

I am so in love with this little project - do you know when you just do something and just like it straight away - this is how I feel about this Squashed Card - not sure what else to call it really.  I found something similar on a youtube tutorial ages ago and put it in my "to do" file - sadly I can't find the original author.

I've done two examples - both baby cards which is not like me but I wanted to play with the bookcase builder and thought it would be great for this project.

I've done a pink version and a blue version.  The sentiment on the front is from Colourful Seasons and it is just the perfect sentiment for this card.  I think from the outside it looks quite plain until you open it up.

You can do this type of card any size you like as long as you use a square piece of cardstock - mine started out as a 6" x 6" square.

I've used the Color Theory Designer Series Papers for both - the blues I've used Pacific Point and Crumb Cake for the Teddy.  The blue ribbon is one of our gorgeous new ribbons - Stitched Edge Pacific Point.

The Pinks I have used the DSP also and Powder Pink and Berry Burst inks.  Also a touch of enamel dots on both cards.   The pink ribbon is Double Stitched Blushing Bride - another new ribbon.

I'm adding the pink one into The Paper Players challenge this week which is Tic Tac Toe and luckily mine fits the bill.

I'm also adding this into the As You See It Challenge - they want to know how you get your mojo back.  I get mine my trawling through the internet and looking and listening to videos - it helps to listen to a voice when I'm on my own in my craft room - a voice other than mine that is!

Here's the video tutorial - I hope you make some and let me know if you do.

COFFEE CAFE GIFT BAGS

Another YouTube tutorial for you today - I loved this Coffee Cafe Suite when I first saw it - I do love coffee but it has to be dark and strong.  No milk, no sugar.  I also like coffee chocolate but that's harder to find.  These little gift bags would be great for giving with chocolates in or sample coffees.

They are very simple to do and naturally you can use the basics of the bag for any combination of Designer Series Papers you may have.

You need a piece of Designer Series Paper 12" x 6".  Score on the 6" side at 2".

On the 12" side score at 1", 3 3/4", 6.5" and 9 1/4".  Fold and burnish your score lines.  Cut the bags as shown on the tutorial, glue and decorate as you would like.

As usual all products can be purchased direct from my store - click on the link below to be taken direct.  And don't forget our Special Bonus Days offer for July where for every £45 you spend in July you get a coupon for £4.50 off in August.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #125 - Kath's Christmas Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

 Image may contain: text

It's Christmas in July again at Watercooler Wednesday with Kath's Non-Traditional Christmas Colors Challenge.

I've chosen to use the beautiful snowflakes from the Colourful Seasons set and the matching Seasonal Layers thinlets.  This is a change of colours for me as I must admit I'm normally and green and red kind of girl for Christmas.  Here I've used three blues, Night of Navy, Pool Party and Soft Sky with a smattering of our new Glitter Enamel Dots.  The greeting is from the retired set Santa's Message.

POOTLES NEW CATALOGUE BLOG HOP - DAISY DELIGHT

Welcome to The Pootlers Team Blog Hop to launch the new 2017 Catalogue - we have some great projects for you showcasing some of our wonderful  new products.

I have chosen to go with Daisy Delight Stamp set and the wonderful Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper - I seriously love this paper - I have used a whole pack already.

There is a Daisy Punch to go with this set which is getting a lot of the attention.  I wanted to focus on the other stamps in this set which are so pretty.

I have used Old Olive and one of our new inks Lemon Lime Twist for the stems.  I have stamped the daisies in Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  These daisies are two step stamping which gives you co-ordinating stamps to produce the pretty flowers.  I've layered the DSP onto black cardstock and it shows you the two sides here of this lovely paper.

The sentiment stamped onto one of our banner framelits is from another new set Colourful Seasons.  I have wound some of the lovely Copper Metallic thread around the base of the stems.  Some Enamel shapes finish off the card.

Pop along to Joanne's Blog to carry on the blog hop.

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #121 - Marsha's "Fireworks" Theme Challenge

Image may contain: fireworks and text

Marsha is hosting this week's challenge and the theme is Fireworks. Wow - what a tricky theme but that's why its a Challenge! lol! Click on the Fireworks image above to go to our site and join in with us.

I had to turn to my Daisy Punch for my card as I really didn't have any stamps that look remotely like fireworks.  But I think these daisies in our new In-Colours do a great job.  The Celebration sentiment is from a retired Project Life set.  It was embossed in Silver Embossing powder and some of our new Glitter Enamel dots help to make it shine even more.  I think these colours against the Basic Black really do pop.

For all the challenge details and to share your project, visit the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge by clicking the fireworks image above.  We'd love to have you join us.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your creations.

PRETTY KITTY - SUNDAY STAMPS SSC154

Blogging twice in one day- you can tell the weather is not so brilliant in the UK - not quite a lovely summery June day. A perfect excuse to do some crafting....not that I need an excuse.

I'm playing along with Sunday Stamps which has a sketch challenge for us:

I thought I'd use the sad little kitty from Pretty Kitty - you never know when you need such a card in your stash!

I added a strip of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and wrapped some Linen Thread around it to match the wool in the image.

The kitty image was coloured in with Watercolor Pencils and layered onto stitched Framelits in Whisper White and Night of Navy.  The sentiment was inked in Night of Navy.  The little hearts were from the Everyday Jars Framelits.  If life is messy you need some love, hence the hearts.

BEAUTIFUL YOU AND DELIGHTFUL DAISY

I've been neglecting the Beautiful You set lately as there have been some lovely new sets to play with but today I thought it deserved an outing with a twist - including the new Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.

I used the papers as a background but also cut it out for her dress. I have layered her onto Old Olive and added a dotted background with a white pen to simulate a window or as if she is looking in a mirror.

I added some butterflies - one with the sadly now retired Bitty Bitty punch but the other larger butterfly ws cut out with Winged Blossoms framelits.  I added some Enamel dots to the butterflies, a bit of sponging on the smaller one.  There is Wink of Stella on the butterflies, on her hat and on the dress.  The hat was coloured in with a touch of Watermelon Wonder using a blender en.

The sentiment from the same set was embossed with white embossing powder and a touch of Lace Ribbon finishes off the card.

I know a very stylish lady who is going to receive this for her birthday.

I'm entering this card into :

The Paper Players -             theme Birthday
Inkspirational -                    theme Windows
Hand Stamped Sentiments - Sketch - Butterfly

DAISY DELIGHT - CAS COLOURS AND SKETCHES #224

I can't seem to leave this little Daisy set alone - and I love the papers which go with it.

The challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches this week is a sketch - how simple is this? Click on the image to go to their site.

 http://cascoloursandsketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/challenge-224-sketch.html

I kept my card as a one layer and added a strip of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper in the gorgeous Night of Navy colour.  I then added two punch outs of the daisy both still in the DSP and added them back to back and curled their petals.  A simple pearl in the middle and the sentiment finished off the card.  I then walked away lol!

All products will be available from my store on 1st June!  Not long now!

DAISY DELIGHT MEETS WATERCOLOR WINGS

A new stamp set meets an old favourite.  The Watercolor Wings works so well with our gorgeous new In-Colours - for the butterfly here I've  used Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and stamped off Fresh Fig, just to soften the Fresh Fig a little.

This set works well with the Bold Butterfly Framelit Dies which I used to cut out the little butterfly.

I've been doing a few CAS challenges lately and its nice to throw loads of goodies at a card for a change.  This is definitely not CAS!

I've also used the Daisy Delight stamp and the Designer Series Paper.  I can see that these two combined are going to prove to be some of my favourites this year.

The cardstock is Fresh Fig.  There is some Wink of Stella on the petals of the daisy, and on the butterfly.  A Glitter Enamel Dot is used in the middle of the daisy and a few enamel dots on the butterfly.

I'm including this card in the challenge for #TGIFC108 - They have a sketch challenge this week.

I'm also including it in Stamp Ink Paper's challenge this week which is Card Maker's Choice - click on the image to be taken to their site.

WATERCOLOR WINGS

One of the other good things about a new Catalogue is you sometimes see some stamp sets with fresh eyes.  Watercolour Wings is not a new set - its carrying over into the new catalogue but I had completely missed it last year and I don't know why.  I love butterflies - they are the only sort of insects I can do (I don't even think they are classes as insects as such but you get my drift)

So this is a new set for me and I thought it was time it got an airing.  The colours used for the main butterfly are Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand and Sweet Sugarplum.  This is by design because it Is the challenge over at CAS Colours and Sketches this week.  These colours look so lovely together.

I stamped it onto some Very Vanilla, layered onto Rich Razzleberry and then Sahara Sand.

A small bit of embellishment with the Enamel glitter dot finished the card off.

I am also putting this in for the following two other

Addicted to CAS - which is Pink

Less is More - which wanted spots/stripes One Layer

Less is More challenge wanted spots/stripes but with one layer so I have taken the same card and just changed it round a bit.  I've stamped it onto Very Vanilla but no layers and I've changed the colours of the butterflies to include Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig.
