Hand Stamped Sentiments #383

I love this sketch we have for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I love anything with tags on.

I decided to dig out my old friend the Rooster from Home to Roost.  He is one of those sets that will always be with me as it's just such a fabulous bird stamp.

I used some old SU DSP for the background and just inked up the edges.  I started off by laying some ink down on my tag with Distress Ink in Old Paper.  I then added a leaf stencil from Lavinia Stamps and added some extra textures with an old script stamp from SU.

The bird was coloured in with SU Marker pens and a touch of Wink of Stella on his feathers.  I stamped the greenery at his feet.  The sentiment has been inked on to a piece of ribbon.  I added some thread around the tag and ribbon at the top.

I'm adding this into the following challenges:

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS #CC357

Welcome back to another Colour Challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments and I hope you are inspired by our lovely choices.

I started off by using the wonderful background stamp Dry Brush stamped in the Blushing Bride - it's a large stamp but is so versatile and I've found it just amazing for backgrounds!  I then wanted to use one of my favourite retired sets Home To Roost - bought mainly for that lovely Rooster I must admit but the sentiments are great too.  I used some of the Bermuda Bay to stamp the grasses in the foreground and coloured the Rooster in with all three colours.  I just simply added the sentiment in Real Red and layered the card onto some Real Red card stock. I added a touch of twine around  just to finish off the card.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS - #HSSSC344

A great sketch for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments  #SC344.  True to form I've gone for a retired stamp set from Stampin Up but it's actually a new set for me - I bought it just for this lovely rooster - called Home To Roost - I quite like the font of the sentiments too so I think this is going to get a few inkings.

I started off with a piece of DSP from my stash - I'm not sure if this is SU as it was gifted to me but I just loved that colour blue.  I used some Lime Otter water colour pens to colour in the rooster giving him a lovely blue tail with lots of Spectrum Noir sparkle and a touch in his comb.  I then cut him out with a stiched framelit and added some Tim Holtz Speckled Egg to the background.  I simply stamped the flowers from the set in some Ranger Archival Ink.

For the banner I cut out a piece of the same paper and used one of Tim Holtz's impresslits - I love these - they cut and emboss at the same time and give you a 3d effect. This one is stars and I think you can just make them out.  I added this behind the rooster and added just some linen thread.  The sentiment was simply stamped at the top.
