BANNERS FOR CHRISTMAS #GDP062

I love mistletoe and its one of the three staples of my Christmas decorations along with the Holly and Ivy which I collect from woods near my home.  Its part of my Christmas tradition and the house is festooned with it.  I'm not a lover of plastic or foil decorations - natural for me all the way.

So it makes sense that I love the mistletoe stamp from the Banners for Christmas set but, as I've said before, I've not seen it used much in blogland or Pinterest. 

The challenge over at Global Design Project this week screamed the mistletoe stamp for me.  The challenge is a sketch challenge shown below



 
 and I've turned it on its side and made it portrait instead of landscape.

I've used  Early Espresso for the cardstock and to ink up the mistletoe stamp along with some of the Presents and Pinecones DSP.

 


 I've coloured in the mistletoe with Mint Macaron and added loads of Basic Rhinestones where the berries should be to make it sparkle - I don't think it shows up very well in the photo.  The sentiment is also from Banners for Christmas making this a very versatile set.

FLYING BY

 

 I've been practising with the Picture Perfect set and aligning this hummingbird.  The bird has four stamps to give it dimension .  I must admit its not the easiest thing to do but when it works its so satisfying.  This little fellow is flying in for the Less is More Challenge who have asked for a one layer card with the theme At Sea.  Very tentative link but my bird is all At Sea because he can't find a flower!

  I've used one of the background stamps from Painter's Palette for the dots round the edge in Mint Macaron.  The bird has been stamped in Basic Gray with just a touch of Mint Macaron at his throat and the base of his wing.  A touch of Wink of Stella makes him sparkle just a little.  The Sentiment is from Thankful Thoughts.

BOTANICAL BUILDER FRAMELITS - NIGHT OF NAVY - MINT MACARON

 I've been playing with my new Big Shot again - I know I'm late to the party but I'm having such fun with it and these Botanical Builder Framelits.  My card uses Night of Navy and Mint Macaron and Whisper Whie cardstock and Night of Navy ink on the sentiment inside. A touch of pearls on the front finishes the card off. This card was inspired by Dawn Griffiths.

The sentiment comes from one of the new sets in the Catalogue Affectionately Yours.
