CHRISTMAS CRAFT CREATIONS - DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

Our challenge for you this month at Christmas Craft Creations  is to use some Designer Paper on your card.  This was quite tricky for me as I don't tend to use papers on my cards any more preferring to make my own backgrounds.  A hunt through my scrapbooking papers found this much loved series of papers from Kaisercraft called Wonderland Collection.  I only have a few bits of it left as it was one of my favourites for scrapping with.

I used the paper that had these lovely trees on it but had to jazz it up a bit.  I added a little chipboard tree I had in my stash and coloured it with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Chipped Sapphire.  I used a piece of Tim Holtz Idealogy for the 25 and the sentiment came from Kaisercraft from the same pack.  I added a Tim Holtz deer die in the same paper and edged with the distress ink.  I added some lace paper at the bototm and some star embellishments on the trees.  I covered the trees and the 25 with some Spectrum Noir sparkle as it is a Christmas card and needs some glitter lol!

Don't forget to add your graphic if you join in with us for a chance to be our winner.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS #434

A great sketch for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I grabbed a background I had in my stash and used it as my background.

For the bottom shape I used a stencil and some Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide Inks - one of my favourite colours.  The top shape was stamped with a stamp by Francoise Read called Notebook Page and I stamped the flower again on top.

The flower stamp is from Sam Poole called Butterfly Walk and I added some of the other stamps from the set to the background.  The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted.

THE MALE ROOM #184 FOOD AND DRINK

Welcome back to another challenge from The Male Room - Food and Drink.  Well this one was a bit tricky for me as I didn't think I had anything suitable.  Looking through my stamps though I found a Christmas set from Sunny Studios called Mug Hugs which I've had for a while and decided mugs aren't just for Christmas lol!

To give this more of a masculine feel I die cut some of this lovely patterned paper I found in my stash with a die from Creative Expressions.  I stamped out the mug onto a tag and coloured it with Tim Holtz inks and layered it with some string behind.  I layered it all onto some brown card stock and then kraft to keep the brown tones throughout.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS COLOUR CHALLENGE #433

Lovely spring colours at our challenge #433 at Hand Stamped Sentiments.    I used all three colours for my background.  I then used an Aallandcreate stencil with some texture paste to add extra interest to the background.  The flower is from Tim Holtz and I stamped and coloured it then cut it out.  The background flowers are Tim Holtz collage tissue. I added sentiments to make this a birthday card as I need a few in my stash over the coming  months.

INSPIRATION STATION - MARCH PROMPT #59

Welcome back to another challenge at Inspiration Station and what an image we have for you today.  How will you be inspired to create from this?  Here's my offering.  This had me hunting through some very old stamps and I mean going back over 20 years or more.  This definitely had an Irish vibe to it for me and as my parents were Irish I wanted to include this old stamp I have of the Tara brooch which is an Irish/Celtic brooch dating to the 7th/8th Century.  I remembered I had this old stamp and wanted to include it. I then found this old stamp of the girl and thought it really went with the piece I was trying to create.

Once the stamp images had been found I set about creating my piece - I used a Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Twisted Citron to add the green ink down the middle of my piece of cardstock.  I then used some music stamps from Alison Bomber to recreate the music in the image.  The stamp of the girl has the word dream on it - I added it to a tag and then found a quote from Tim Holtz to go with it.  I cut out the Tara Brooch and added it with dimensionals and added some gems to it to make it sparkle.

CREATIVE ARTISTE MIXED MEDIA - MARCH CHALLENGE

Welcome back to another challenge at Creative Artiste Mixed Media where we welcome any of your projects as long as they have a mixed media element with multiple mediums used on your entry.

I have two projects to share with you this month.  The first is my DT entry for this month - inspired by one of  Tracy Evans You Tube videos I created a mini canvas. I started off by using my gel press and adding some Tim Holtz distress oxide inks in Uncharted Mariner and Candied Apple .I then added some Sam Poole Antique Sand Paste in Delicate Blue.  Some of them were a bit pale for my liking so I went over them with some more Uncharted Mariner. I then used a Tim Holtz stamp for some wording in the background and part of a flower stamp from Tracy Evans set Elegant Stems.   I stamped out one of the flowers from the same set and kept one in the white and the other coloured with Candied Apple.

I added some layers behind the flower with some printed vellum from Taperlogy and the writing from the stamp where I cut it away.  Nothing gets wasted!  I added a vein leaf from my stash and the butterfly was die cut and inked in Candied Apple.  I found the sentiment in my scrapbook stash so not sure where it came from but I thought it fit the piece.  I layered it onto some orange card stock and then onto a canvas board and edged it with some black Micron pen.  The little hanger from Tim Holtz just finishes it off.
