CLEAR EMBOSSING

Another outing for the new stamp set from Stampin Up Dandelion Wishes - I can't put it down at the moment.  This card combines two challenges - a colour challenge from Fab Friday and a summer embossing challenge from TGIF.  These are the colours we were to use from Fab Friday- I had all of them bar Mint Macaron - I know I had an ink in this colour but it's disappeared.  I did have some ribbon left though.

I started off my card by using the Tim Hotlz blending tool to blend some Mossy Meadow on to white cardstock.  Inspired by the image for the TGIF challenge I used the sun from Kinda Eclectic and using Powder Pink I clear embossed it. It gives off a lovely sheen to the card.  My PP ink is very dry and it sometimes needs a helping hand from Versamark to help it show up.  I used Tranquil Tide stamped off for the dandelion stamps.  The sentiment is from Jar of Love and this was inked in Tranquil Tide but not stamped off so it's a bit darker.  Some coloured rhinestones in the daffodils finishes off the card.  I hope it looks summery enough for the challenge.  We are certainly experiencing hot weather here in the UK and melting - it's even too hot to craft especially when you take into account our homes do not have air-con!

What we need is a good summer thunderstorm to water all the gardens and cool us down.  I never thought I'd hear myself say we needed rain lol!

CAS WINNER

I was thrilled to be chosen as one of the winners over at CAS Colours and Sketches for my Butterfly Inlaid card - I do find CAS quite tricky as I love to pile stuff on my cards a la Tim Holtz but its nice to be challenged so its a great boost to have one of my cards chosen as a winner.

I'm entering again this week and my card is super simple.   I used one of the Stitched Framelits to make a mask for my squares - and inked them up in So Safron and a touch of Crushed Curry by Stampin Up.  I've used the butterfly from Kinda Eclectic - yes my favourite Go-To stamp set at the moment and kept it in the same ink colour of Crushed Curry. The sentiment is from Lotus Blossom and a touch of Dazzling Diamonds on the full butterfly in the middle finishes off this simple but effective card.  I've layered it onto some Crushed Curry cardstock.

I'm also adding this one in to Addicted to Stamps #291 whose theme is Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment - I love to hear from you.

KINDA ELECTIC - COLLAGE STYLE

So I have a new stamp set and am playing with it like mad - I'm late to the Kinda Eclectic by Stampin' Up! party as it's a retired set - it passed me by in the catalogue and it was only looking through Pinterest that I saw some cards made with it and realised what a lovely versatile set it is.

I've done a CAS card with it and thought I'd do more of a collage look to the set - my card is going in to the Global Design Project challenge this week which is Bring Me Sunshine.  You can't get much better than that huge sun stamp which is part of the set.

My colours on this card are all Stampin Up inks - I used Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Fresh Fig and a touch of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede for the edges and the sentiment.  I used the Banner Framelits to cut out the sentiment which comes from SU Thankful Thoughts, and you can just see the background of the stamped circles which come with this set.  I still have my SU butterfly punches which retired a while back but which fit these butterflies perfectly.  A touch of basic pearls and gold thread finish off the card.

I'm off to do some more playing with this lovely set....I hope you don't get bored seeing too much of it.
