I've been busy making
lots of little boxes lately using the Merry Little Labels set and the matching punch. #christmaspunch.
The boxes are very simple to make and I've done a quick tutorial to show you how easy they are. They can be left open at the top or closed as in the Christmas example below.
This example uses Crumb Cake as the base and stamped with leaves from Colourful Season and Jar of Love. The jar was cut out of the front using the Jar of Love Framelits and then stamped over it with the jar image. The lid was added on an embellishment. Clear Acetate has been put behind the jar and then you can fill it with all sorts of goodies - I've added some of our Sequin Assortment. The leaf has been made with the Seasonal Layers Thinlets. The tag has used the cut out of the jar and I've stamped one of the sentiments from Merry Little Labels on it and added some Linen Thread to the top.
This is a slightly different example using Old Olive as the cardstock. The leaf has been cut into the front. I've used the same leaves from Colourful Seasons to stamp on the cardstock with Versamark. A brad attached the label which has been punched out with the new matching punch - #christmaspunch.
This is a Christmas version using Night of Navy and Silver Embossing Powder. I've used the snowflakes from Colourful Seasons and a touch of Metallic Edge Ribbon in silver. The Let It Snow is a perfect accompaniment and looks so lovely embossed in silver.
I'm adding my boxes into the following challenges:
SU Only challenge - which is asking us to use our favourite punches or dies
We are up to our fifth challenge already at Joy of Sets. This time we are working with the letter J. I chose to use Jar of Love as I love this set - it is so versatile as can be seen from the Design Team examples.
I've used some of the new gorgeous Coffee Break DSP for the background which goes so well with the Island Indigo cardstock. The jar itself has been cut out of the same cardstock and given a glitter wash with Wink of Stella. The stems and hearts have been cut out of Everyday Jars Framelits and the flowers from Seasonal Layers thinlets. The sentiment is from Watercolor Wings.
I hope you join in with our challenge this week and go and visit the Design Team and leave them a comment. Happy Crafting
Blogging twice in one day- you can tell the weather is not so brilliant in the UK - not quite a lovely summery June day. A perfect excuse to do some crafting....not that I need an excuse. I'm playing along with Sunday Stamps which has a sketch challenge for us:
I thought I'd use the sad little kitty from Pretty Kitty - you never know when you need such a card in your stash!
I added a strip of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and wrapped some Linen Thread around it to match the wool in the image.
The kitty image was coloured in with Watercolor Pencils and layered onto stitched Framelits in Whisper White and Night of Navy. The sentiment was inked in Night of Navy. The little hearts were from the Everyday Jars Framelits. If life is messy you need some love, hence the hearts.
Thank
you for joining us for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge!
We’re so excited to be sharing this hop with you. The products used are
all available in the current Annual, or seasonal, Stampin’ Up!®
Catalogues*. Simply use the buttons at the bottom of the post to keep

The lovely Heidi Smith designed our sketch this month and here it is:
I chose to use Bookcase Builder - I love this set and it hasn't got used a lot. I was pleased to see it was going to continue in the new catalogue because I think it has lots of potential. I used some of the retiring Falling In Love Designer Series Paper - once I'd got over the fact that I couldn't cut this paper its been lovely to use. The hearts at the top were cut out with the Everyday Jar Framelits and a backing of Whisper White added. I used the Stitched Framelits - my favourites.
I don't usually do baby cards as I have no-one to send them to so maybe this one will sit and wait in my box just in case.....

Its cold and miserable here in the UK again, the wind is blowing and it feels like winter not August. So I've been playing with Jar of Love again and the Serene Scenery, again!!!.... to make a lovely beach scene to make me feel like its summer.
I've used Bermuda Bay card stock as the base covered in some of our silver which has been embossed with the dots embossing folder. As per Watercooler's sketch I've turned my card around and added some of the wonderful Serene Scenery DSP. The Jar tag has been cut with the framelits from the Jar of Love series. I cut the larger jar first in Whisper White and then another in Bermuda Bay and inlaid the smaller label to cut inside the Bermuda Bay. A wash of Pool Party on the white jar gave us the water and I cut out two of the leaves with the framelits for the fronds for the little fish to hide in. Dazzling Diamonds was added then I cut a piece of Window Sheet and put it all together. The top of the jar was embossed with Silver Embossing powder and I added two of our lovely ribbons in Bermuda Bay and Silver. I added some Basic Rhinestones to the bottom. The label was punched out with the Decorative Label punch. The wording is also from the Jar of Love set - I covered over the For from the FOR YOU with a bit of sellotape. Remember though to remove the ink that will stick to the tape - which I didn't do the first time!! A little embossed silver heart from the same set finished off the label. This card is going into hubby's lunch box tomorrow - he's had a hard time healthwise at the moment and yesterday at work fell over and hurt his back on a steel pole. Bless him he was back at work this morning but he's tool old to be falling over. I'd love to see his face and the rest of the guys when he sees this in his lunch box! lol!
I'm entering my little fish into some challenges. Watercooler Wednesday as they have given us a sketch to work with.
