SPRING CHALLENGES

There are a couple of Spring challenges around at the moment.

The Challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday is Clean and Simple Spring.  You'll find the challenge here

Oh heck - lots of white space - here we go again.  And I steeled myself to try and stick to the brief - but is there too much white space?

I used the lovely flowers from Serene Silhouettes - I'm so sad this set is being retired as its one of my favourites.  So if its one of yours too there's not long to grab your own set!  I used my SU markers to colour the stamp in three colours!

The Spring word is an old SU saying and it was embossed with old SU Old Olive embossing powders.

I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to old SU products.  I'm not strict enough to get rid of things when they retire.  These embossing powders I have hasd since 2003!!!!  And the Spring sentiment is from 2005 - you can't say I don't get my monies worth.  The products last and last.

To purchase the wonderful Serene Silhouettes stamp set before it goes - click here.  Don't forget to use the hostess code above to get a free gift from me at the end of the month.

I also found a new challenge The Paper Players - you can find them here .Their challenge is Clean and Simple (CAS) but with butterflies.  I've used the spring card from above and added a lovely cut out butterfly.  I  must admit I feel a little happier filling that space with something.  Guess I have a way to go for CAS to become my norm!

Your card is beautiful, Fiona! A perfect example of clean and simple. Serene Silhouettes is one of my favorites and I'm sad to see it retire. Thank you for joining the Watercooler Wednesday Challenges. I look forward to seeing you againa. Marsha

Wow, Fiona, I'm blown away by having you link up 39 minutes after our new challenge has launched. And with such a lovely, wonderfully clean and simple card, as well. I'll miss the beautiful images from the Serene Silhouettes stamp set and love the way you've used them here. The colouring is so well done and the angled sentiment finishes everything off perfectly. Thanks so much for coming back to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and for joining us this week.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to hang onto retired products. And, as you said, they do last and last. You've used them to great effect here and really captured the spirit of CAS - and spring! Thanks for playing with the Watercooler Gang.

CAS - you nailed it, Fiona! :) I'm like you - I get stressed when I see a lot of white space. But your card is great, and I had a good laugh at 'getting your monies worth' from your products! Thanks for joining us for this week's Watercooler Wednesday challenge. ~Deborah
