ON THE BEACH

Another scrapbook page from me today.  I love this picture of my daughter and her dog Cooper at the beach last week - I can't take credit for the lovely photo - it was taken by her partner.

I've taken my inspiration from Let's Get Sketchy and their challenge for my page.

I'm also including this in the CSI challenge

And also for the Inspired By challenge

And Time Out Challenge - taking inspiration from those lovely striped blues

I used a page from Bo Bunny Love and Lace for my background paper and then added various Kaisercraft Beach Shack papers and accessories.  I love the sentiments they give you with this paper - it's so fitting as my daughter is a real water baby.

Thanks for looking.

THE GRADUATE

My page today is of my daughter and her Graduation in 2012 - how quickly the years go - it really does seem only yesterday she was having her first day at school and I was in tears having to leave her in the hands of others.  Now she's all grown up - the words of that old song Sunrise Sunset really are very poignant.

I think Scrapbooking can bring with it a real sense of nostalgia - I'm a person who sadly lives in the past and it doesn't really do me any good - I need to look to the future but I find that difficult.  That's probably why I like to scrapbook - I can get lost in the past again for a while.

My page has been inspired by the Let's Get Sketchy sketch -

I've used the lovely Kaisercraft papers in from the Memory Lane Collection together with other added bits and bobs, the butterfly from SU Bold Butterfly Framelits and the tags from an SU punch. The title stickers are called Thickers from American Crafts.

I'm also adding this into Kaisercraft's own challenge of a Tic Tac Toe box - I've used the bottom row.

LET'S SCRAP

Another couple of pages from me today - the time flies when you have layouts to do - a lot of the time is spent putting things on and off the base until I'm happy enough with it to add glue!

My first layout is for Sketches In Thyme and their challenge for June 1st.

My children, especially  my son, has an annoying habit of taking Selfies if you happen to leave your phone unattended. I say children - look at them they are 27 and 24!!  They are hilarious though and it certainly brightens up my phone feed - I never know what will be on there next.  I've used some retired Stampin Up papers here to co-ordinate with son's jumper as this was a Christmas jumper!  The washi tape is also retired SU.  The sentiments are from Kaisercraft.

My other layout is of hubby and I a few years ago on our first trip to Tuscany, Italy.  We love Italy and as I sing opera it is one of my favourite places to go to and we did get to see Puccini's house.  This was our first visit to Tuscany though rather than one of the main cities and it was out of season and very peaceful.  I've used Kaisercraft papers here - some of it from their Snap Picture Perfect set.

This one is for the Let's Get Sketchy challenge for June 1st.

SNOW DAY

Just as we thought spring was on its way in the UK we got hit with winter and lots of snow.  I chose this theme and my photos of my son, hubby and the dogs as we enjoyed the snow.  As you can see the dogs had a fabulous time.

My layout was inspired by the Let's Get Sketchy challenge blog and their sketch

My background paper was one that I had in my stash - I've added some DSP from Stampin Up and some stamps from Project Life Remember This.  The snowflakes have been cut out with the Seasonal Thinlets.

SCRAPBOOKING PAGE - ROMAN HOLIDAY

One of my birthday presents this week from darling hubby was a new printer for my photos - a little Canon Selphy that had been recommended by some scrapbooking friends as I've been itching to get scrapbooking again.  I much prefer to have special photos on the page and in an album than left on a computer or a mobile phone.

Mooching around the internet I found some scrapbooking challenges which I decided would be great motivation to get me scrapping again.  The important thing for my pages is that they tell a story so I do like to put journalling on there so we know what the page is for rather than just add a photo and some decoration.

Let's Get Sketchy was one of the challenges I found and I sort of followed their sketch for my layout.  All of my supplies are so old its hard to list what I used.  The stencils are Tim Holtz and the rubber stamp of the Colosseum is an old Cherry Pie Art Stamp.  This page is celebrating my son's 21st Birthday when the family went to Rome - one of our favourite places and as my son is an Archaeologist an obvious place for us to go to celebrate his 21st birthday.

Another Challenge blog I found was Challenge Yourself #53 - where they want to see you in the picture - they have given a picture also as inspiration -

Now my link to this is quite tenuous but bear with me - one of our favourite films is Gladiator - the part where he is returning home and walking through the wheat to get to his home is very poignant and this image reminded me of that image.  As my page is all to do with Rome I'm guessing you can see where I'm going with this!

Card Mania CM#104 is looking for Anything But A Card so I'm adding my page.
