HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS SC431

I loved playing with our sketch this month from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  So many possibilities!

I started out by using a Creative Expressions Stencil for my background with Old Paper Distress Oxide Ink.  I then used three strips of washi tape in spring colours.  I wanted to use the flowers from Tracy Evans set Elegant Spring Florals for my shapes.  I fussy cut them out and coloured them in with Tim Holtz Watercolour Pencils in spring colours.

I added some string behind them and used some pinflair glue to attach them to the card.   I then used the word Spring from the Seasons stamp set by Tracy Evans.  I added a few water droplet embellishments to finish off the card.

I'm adding this into the following challenges:

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS - #ICC358

We have a mood board for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  A tricky one for me as I don't actually have any succulent stamps so I went with the colours and created a spring garden flower scene.  I'm sure there are lots of us who can't wait for Spring to arrive.

I used some Tim Holtz Stamps from his Flower Jar collection.  I stamped them in a brown rather than a black so they weren't too harsh.  I used Distress Inks and a paint brush to colour in the flowers.  The birds are from an old TH set and the sentiment is from Kaisercraft.  I added a sparkling butterfly as you need to have a butterfly on some flowers!

SWEET STAMPIN - MELLOW YELLOW

Our challenge for you at Sweet Stampin this week is Mellow Yellow - signs of spring.  We've had a mixed bag for sure this week with the weather - glorious warmth and then the next day hailstones!  Poor old flowers and birds and insects - they must wonder what on earth is going on.

My card today uses a few stamp sets - the background is from SU called Timeless Textures and I've inked it in SU Crushed Curry, stamped off Berry Burst and Pool Party.  The sentiment is from a spring set of stamps I have from an old magazine.  The butterfly is from SU thinlets and the flowers are punched out of an old punch by Martha Stewart!  Yes, it's that old.  I've added a touch of SU Bronze Thread behind the butterfly and added some embellishments to the flowers.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment - I'm looking forward to seeing all your lovely Spring cards.
