WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY WWC118 - MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS

Its another challenge week for Watercooler Wednesday and my second week as part of the Design Team.   This week our challenge is set by Penny and is

This was a rather difficult one for me as I lost my mum in 2010 on 7th May so very timely for this to pop up for me.  I know in the US its Mother's Day in May but we have ours here in the UK in March.

My card for this challenge uses Mediterranean Moments - my idea behind this card was if my mum were still here I would love to be sitting at this table having a drink with her and a chat.  I wanted to use some muted colours for the background and just give a pop of colour for the actual image.

I used the sentiment from Birthday Blooms for the For You and the dots from the same set to give an aged look to the banner.  A touch of Linen Thread just tied round gives added interest and the little addition of pearls as they were my mum's favourites.

Come and join in with the challenge - I look forward to seeing all your entries.  If you need more inspiration pop along to all the Design Team members - do leave a comment we love to hear from you.

Oh Fiona thanks so much for sharing your own personal loss and the story behind how you chose this beautiful little cafe scene for your card. Thinking about you and your mom sharing a cuppa at that bistro table brought tears. Simply a beautiful card. Hugs to you.

What a great card, Fiona, and what a lovely thought. I'm sure that your mother knows precisely what your thoughts were in creating this card. Whether they are still with us or gone, there is a part of them right there beside us each and every day. I know I feel my mother's presence.

I don't know what is about this card, but, I really like it. I don't care for this stamp set, but, I love the card. Can you tell me the name of the style? Maybe I could look it up somewhere and make one?

Thank you Gloria. There is no 'style' name as such it was just my own ideas. I'll try and do a tutorial for you and let you know
