SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE

Challenge blogs!  There are lots of them out there and I was just musing over what I expect from playing along with them.  Is it the anticipation that your project may get chosen and clicking back on and seeing your name as the winner?  That's a great incentive I must say.  I love the fact that members of the team take the effort to come onto my blog and make a comment.  I'm on a Design Team myself and I ensure that I always comment if people have taken the time to join in.  There are a few blogs however that never seem to comment or choose winners and I'm slowly giving them a bit of a wide berth.

Global Design Project   challenge this week is a sketch

I wanted to use some new products from the new catalogue but I am still waiting for my order to arrive - two weeks so far - eek I'm normally quite patient!  So I decided to use some of the new Share What You Love DSP which was gifted to me.  I used some old SU punches to cut out the flowers and a retired SU embossing folder for the hearts background.  The sentiment is from an old SU set called Riveting.  The lace ribbon is also retired but the pearls are Share What You Love pearls.  A mix of the old and the new!

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS - SKETCH CARD

It's Tuesday again and that means time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Here's our sketch for you this week.

This was actually quite a difficult challenge for me and the first card I did I didn't really like.  It was similar to this but the choice of background card stock just didn't seem to work.  I tried Very Vanilla instead and was much happier.

I've used an old SU set here called Riveting which I've had for a good many number of years but never wanted to part with it - as soon as I saw the circles on the sketch I knew I had to use it for this card.

I've also used some of the lovely new DSP from SU called Share What You Love - this was very kindly gifted to me by a member of my Facebook Group The Joy of Sets in a RAK group that we have running - I was overwhelmed to receive such a fabulous gift from one of the members Margaret Reuter and these colours are so my colours.

I've added a piece of the lovely new twine too and the sentiment is from Feather Together.

I hope you come and join in with the challenge - pop by the rest of the Design Team and see what inspiration they have for you.

Til next time...Happy Crafting

ALL ABOUT THE RETRO

My card today has been inspired by CASE this Sketch challenge blog which is also doing a Retro Case.

Although not strictly as CAS as it should be I'm still going to enter my card into their challenge.

I kept with the idea of retro and went to the back of my cupboard and found some very old Stampin' Up Stamps - the little nappy pin is from Riveting, the Yeah Baby is from A Little Love stamp set and I don't know where the bird came from.  I used one of the Stitched framelits to cut out all the images and used Stampin Up ink in Soft Suede, Island Indigo and an old Bordering Blue.

The paper is some I had on my desk and is from Marianne Design - Arctic Winter.  It spoke of babies to me so I chose to do a baby card.  The sentiment from Colourful Seasons is just perfect for baby cards.  And then I went off piste in a CAS sort of way - I still had my button jar out from yesterday's card so I added the three little start to the bottom and then I had added a pearl to the inside of the flower so three just also happened to land on the bottom of the card.  Gulp - not CAS!

It certainly makes a change from blue or pink cards!
