LOVE AND AFFECTION

Do you find when there is excitement over a new catalogue, even a mini one, some of our old friends get forgotten.  I found this set in the back of my cupboard - it was one I received at On Stage so it doesn't have its case and can get overlooked.  I have the embossing folders to match and I don't think I've done much with it at all so its coming out to play.

This is the thinking behind my new Facebook Group The Joy Of Sets - where a few times a week I will post the name of a Stampin' Up! Stamp Set be it current or retired and all you have to do is pop your image in the appropriate album.  Its open to all - SU demos and non demos so why not pop along and join in. Click on the image below to be taken to the group.

I've used the sketch from Case this Sketch this week for my card

I've used Melon Mambo as my cardstock  base and used the lovely Falling Petals Embossing folder to add the hearts.  I used the Floral Affection  embossing folder for the flowers on the Whisper White.  The flower is from Love and Affection and I've cut it out after colouring it with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry Watercolour Pencils.  An enamel dot is placed in the centre and the flower is finished off with Wink of Stella.

The stem is actually from Jar of Love.  I used a Banner Framelit for the sentiment which is from Love and Affection and the card is finished off with some of our lovely Organza Ribbon.

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS - GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #80

There's a CASE the designer challenge over at Global Design Project this week and this is the card we are to CASE - copy and selectively edit.

I've used Mediterranean Moments again for my card - but this time the cute image of the cat sitting and watching that butterfly!  I've used the Bokeh Paper from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper - these are so not my colours but I do find myself strangely drawn to them.  I've used the reverse sidew for the stripe across the card and inked up the tag in Rich Razzleberry around the edges.

The Banner was cut with the Banner Framelits - do you know when you use the one I've shown you actually get two parts cut out.  So if you choose different colours you can make the banner as shown.  Hope that makes sense!

If you are on Facebook I have just started a new Facebook Group called The Joy of Sets - each week I will choose a Stamp Set = it could be current or retired and all you have to do is add your project be it card, 3d project or scrapbooking page.  Hopefully it will be a great resource for all who love Stampin' Up!  Do pop along and join the group - it is open to all = Demos and Non Demos alike! Click on the image below to join the fun!

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH ALL YOUR OLD SU SETS?

A lot of us have Stampin Up sets going back years.  As Demos we have to say goodbye to old favourites and keep up with the catalogues but there are some you just can't let go.  Also there are some you buy and never really use - they sit unloved in a cupboard.

Well - if you are on Facebook - pop along to my new Facebook Group called The Joy of Sets.  Its a closed group but you can request to join - its for all - Demos and Non Demos alike. As long as you love Stampin' Up! you're in.

Each week I will post the name of a Stamp Set.  All you have to do is join in with an image of your project be it card, 3d, scrapbook page using that stamp set.  Simple.  But just think of the great resource we will have with all the different images.

Click on the image below to be taken to the facebook page and come and join in the fun!

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS - EASEL CARD

The challenge over at As You See It this week is .. click on the image to be taken to their site.

 http://www.asyouseeitchallenge.com/

They want us to complete the phrase and say what our favourite thing about Spring is and then make a card!  Tricky?  Not when I had Mediterranean Moments stamp set.

My favourite thing about Spring is the warmer weather and being able to sit outdoors.  I love this image in this stamp set and I can just imagine sitting at this table with a glass of something light and fizzy, yes ok I mean Prosecco and enjoying the warm sun.  Its been a glorious weekend this weekend in the UK with lots of lovely warm sun befitting my card - and its making us all feel summer is on its way.

I've chosen to make an Easel card as I think it helps to show the image off a bit better.  The other stamp set I've used for the wording is Project Life Date It!  I think Project Life sets often get overlooked and they are great for words.

I've used some of the gorgeous Falling In Love Designer Series paper with that wonderful Bokeh imagery and a touch of our lovely Lace Trim ribbon.  The butterfly was punched with the small butterfly punch.

A touch of Wink of Stella on the tablecloth and Dazzling Diamonds on the butterfly finishes off this card.

WETLANDS MASCULINE CARD - WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY

Just before I start my post I just wanted to share our fantastic news - Stampin' Up! won Papercraft Brand and Retail of the Year for 2017 here in the UK.  What fantastic news - especially when you bear in mind we are not strictly a retailer and you can only purchase from your fabulous local Independent Demonstrator!

The challenge over at Watercooler Wednesday for this week was Anything Goes - Masculine Cards. A great challenge for me as I do Masculine Monday You Tube tutorials.

Once again I have turned to Wetlands for my masculine card.  I love this set because its not obviously a masculine set and therefore very versatile.  But I think it lends itself to masculine cards without being in your face - if you get my meaning!

I used Early Espresso cardstock for the base and the Designer Series Paper is from the gorgeous Falling in Love from the Spring/Summer catalogue.  Not probably your first thought for male cards as it has a lot of pink in it but that's the beauty of our Designer Series Paper - they are double sided and I loved the neutral background on this paper.  The opposite side is quite pink as you can see from this little picture below.

I used our Watercolour Pencils and a blender pen to colour in the goose and marker pens to stamp the ferns with the two colours.  I edged the top of the DSP and the greeting with a touch of Tangerine Tango and Rose Red ink just to give a hint of a sunset.  A touch of the Burlap Ribbon, one of my favourites and the Decorative Punch label for the sentiment completed this card.  This was all made with one stamp set!

Thank for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I love to hear from you and it does make blogging worth while.

iF YOU LOVE TO CRAFT AND LIVE IN MY AREA WHY NOT COME ALONG TO MY CLASSES.  THEY ARE HELD DURING THE DAY AND IN THE EVENINGS AND ARE GREAT FUN.  ALL THESE LADIES WERE BEGINNERS JUST A MONTH AGO AND ALL THOUGHT THEY COULDN'T CRAFT. BUT WITH STAMPIN' UP! YOU REALLY CAN.

HAPPY CRAFTING

WACKY WATERCOLOUR BLOG HOP - MARCH 2017

Thank you for hopping by to my blog courtesy of Marie Green's wonderful blog.  What wonderful projects she has made for us.

I'm delighted to be part of the blog hop for Watercooler Wednesday and in our hop we are celebrating everything Sale-A-Bration - it only lasts until the end of March so if you have fallen in love with Hey Chick, Delicate Details, Avant-Garden to name just a few time is running out for you to get these items for FREE!

Here are some of my ideas for you for using some of our Sale-A-Bration offers.

WATERFALL CARD - HEY CHICK

I'm sure lots of you have made waterfall cards - they are much simpler than they look but they definitely have the Wow factor.  Here's one I did with Hey Chick for a class and they loved it.

I used Mint Macaron - sadly this colour will be leaving us at the end of May and it has been one of my favourites.  I used Watercolour Pencils to colour in the chicks and a touch of Dazzling Diamonds on the Cockrels feathers.

T

This is a really quick YouTube video I did just to show my customers what we were going to be doing that evening.

 AVANT-GARDEN - PANEL CARD

Another one of my favourite sets from Sale-A-Bration was the lovely Avant-Garden and I will be sorry to see this go.  Here I've done a Panel Card.  The base is Whisper White and the Designer Series Paper is the Succulent Garden - I love these papers.  They are so so pretty.

 DELICATE DETAILS - SQUARE CARD

My final card for Sale-A-Bration uses Delicate Details - yet again another lovely set of stamps that I will be sorry to see leave us.  I made a square card this time and used some of the papers from Falling In Love Designer Series Paper.

The Delicate Details were stamped by with Early Espresso.  I've also used one of the lovely dancing images from Beautiful You and the sentiment Celebrate .... because it looks as though she may be celebrating something.  A touch of Very Vanilla lace trim at the bottom of the card finishes it off.  The girls dress was coloured in with Watercolour Pencils and a touch of Wink of Stella.

I hope you've enjoyed my projects - I will be doing tutorials on all of them on my youtube channel so do pop back and have a look.

Now onwards on the hop to Sherri Lee and see what she has in store.

Well apologies first off because I've just realised I didn't actually publish this
Oops!

Hi Crafters a lot going on today - where shall I start?  First of all with my YouTube channel as its the first of the month and the announcement of the winner for February.  All my subscribers get put into a draw to win some of the previous month's projects.  The winner for February is Francine Ward. Congratulations Francine!!

1st March is also St David's Day which is celebrated in Wales.  As a Welsh girl I have made my Welsh Cakes, traditional cakes cooked on a griddle, and am wearing my daffodil with pride.  Mine are both dairy free and gluten free and just as yummy!

My card for today should really have been daffodils!!! I've used our free set from Sale-A-Bration Avant Garden for my card and video tutorial today.
