GO MAKE SOMETHING - RUST

I've just done some altered background papers on UK stampers this week and the challenge on Go Make Something is to use Rust - their example is rust papers - and that's just what I did for my altered papers. I've used one as the background with keys, cause old ones are often rusty!

THURSDAY CHALLENGE - IN THE PINK + BROWN!

The Challenge over at Theme Thursday this week is to use the colours Pink and Brown. I've done a tag/picture frame - not sure where I got this stamp from - it was quite difficult to get it to stamp but I persevered! Such a great image.

FAUX LINEN TECHNIQUE

I saw this technique on my travels around craft blogs and thought it looked lovely. I've made mine using Stampin Up products. The butterfly is clear embossed and then coloured in with marker pens and a touch of sparkle - which isn't showing up.

LOTS TO DO CHALLENGE

The Challenge over at Lots to Do is to add stamping to your work - easy peasy for me.

I used a Tim Holtz Stamp and a Cherry Pie stamp. I wanted to use a different TH stamp but I just couldn't get it to stamp nicely so gave up in the end - grrr!

Art - The Journey Awakens the Soul

WEDNESDAY STAMPER - FLAG COLOURS

Wow a tricky request over at Wednesday Stamper this week -they asked you to use the colours of your flag. My flag is Wales so my colours are red, white and green. I couldn't not put a dragon on there somewhere !!!! I haven't used Mulberry paper in ages!

TMTA - WHAT'S IN YOUR GARDEN?

I'm doing a nature swap over at UK Stampers forum and the challenge this week on TMTA is in the garden. This ATC combines the two - the background flower stamp and Summer word stamp are from Stampin Up - the butterflies' wings are rose petals from the garden and its body is a leaf. Its antennae are clematis stalks. His right wing stretched out a bit when it dried.

PAY IT FORWARD

PAY IT FORWARD

Here is how it works:

If you're one of the first five to respond to this post you get a gift created by the blog owner that would be "Me".

Now for the PAY IT FORWARD rules:

1. The gift will be a mystery of my choice, created especially for the recipient.

2. I have one year to get all five gifts made, but I'm sure it won't take me that long. LOL!!!

3. If you're one of the five, you must make a post in your blog offering to make a gift for five people, spreading the joy of creation.

4. When you receive your gift, you should make a post on your blog and show everyone inspiring others to follow the chain and participate So if you think you want to spread the joy of creating please sign up and pay it forward.

BEST FRIENDZ LAYOUT

I set the scrapbooking challenge this month over on Auntys forum. It was to use up some of those alphabet letters that we get left with and that sit in the bottom of the box or drawer.
I've used various letters - the papers are all Stampin Up.

BEAUTY

BEAUTY IS THE CHALLENGE OVER AT THEME THURSDAY THIS WEEK - HERE'S MINE:

JUDY GARLAND

Well, they say all good thing come in threes! Its been a real Judy Garland week for me this week - firstly the challenge where I chose to do Judy - then I watched the film of Sex and the City the other day (I've never seen the TV series - can you believe that?) and who was featured in it ? - none other than Judy in my fave film and then today - WOW - I've just learned I've won 2 tickets to see Lorna Luft in Concert in a tribute to her mother.

Thanks Judy x ....... oh and the BBC

It got very stormy last nightover our garden - and a rainbow was just visible:

ARCHITECTURE

Architecture is the challenge this week on a new challenge blog for me - Artsy. I've used some Tim Holtz stamps here:

Its been 23 years since I was last in Paris! Eek! My darling hubby took me there for our first Wedding Anniversary as a complete surprise to me - I was just told to pack a bag for the weekend - needless to say I didn't pack any comfortable shoes and ended up with very sore feet from all the walking. My most abiding memory is of one of the best meals we had in Paris - we bought ourselves some cheese, bread and wine and sat on the banks of the Seine overlooking Notre Dame and had our lunch. Magnifique! Here's me in 1986! It looks like I've been photoshopped!

ONE POWERFUL HOUR - STRIPES

Stripes is the theme on One Powerful Hour this week - here's my interpretation - can you spot the baby?

SUMMER SOLSTICE

What a great theme this week over at TMTA - Summer Solstice. With Stonehenge just literally 10 minutes away from me I'd love to go down - but I'd probably spend all my time in a traffic jam - so I think I'll celebrate at home but be there in spirit.

I had to use my Cherry Pie Stamps for this one . The touch of holly is there, as all pagans know, because after Mid-Summer the Oak King gives way to the Holly King ready for Winter - oh no Winter already! lol!

I'm also going to put this in for the Art Pieces challenge which want's something magical. This is a weekly ATC challenge blog - a new one for me.

SUNDAY POSTCARD ART - OVER THE RAINBOW

I was inspired to join in with Sunday Postcard Art this week as they are doing the challenge Over The Rainbow. I couldn't do anything other than Judy Garland - she's one of my favourite singers and performers. One of my favourite films is Meet Me In St Louis - and every Christmas Eve I set aside a little time for myself to watch this and hear her sing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. I've been lucky enough to hear Lorna Luft sing, Judy's other daughter, but have never heard Liza - someone I would also love to have heard sing live.

Like most of our great singers she had a tragic short life and all that emotion found its expression in her voice. To me a singer has to be able to do more than just sing - they have to feel what they're singing. Here's my postcard and for all you Judy fans - here's a little big of magic

Mojo Back - Theme Thursday - Flourish

I've actually done some crafting today - my mojo had packed its bags and gone on holiday but today it had recovered from its jet lag and came back.

I've finally done a page in a CJ which I found under all my crafting stuff - it belonged to Diane - I bet she's forgotten all about it - she's also receiving a bookmark as a Bingo gift.

I used some metallic paints to make the bookmark and CP stamps.
I then played around with some new stamps I'd bought in the States when I was there in April and I had a play with some Adirondack dabbers which are new to me. I came up with this and then thought I'd have a look around blog challenge land to see if it could fit into a theme and I found one over at Thursday Challenge who are looking for flourishes. The stamps are from Tim Holtz and Stamp Connection, I think.

INCHY CHALLENGE - SHELLS

As the weather has been glorious lately and the newspapers are full of pictures of people trying to get to beaches I thought I'd have the beach come to us with this week's inchy challenge, which is shells.

If you've not tried inchies yet - why not give them a go?
Is it just me having trouble with blogger lately - whenever I go on a blog it won't let me go on and says operation aborted.
