TOTALLY TREES, LOVELY STITCHING, DANEBURY IRON AGE HILL FORT

HA! I bet that heading made you look twice - not often you see an Iron Age hill fort on a crafting blog.  But I thought I would share some pictures with you.

I'm lucky enough to live near one of the most important Iron Age Hill Forts in my area in Hampshire, UK, called Danebury.  Its a lovely place to walk my dogs and the views are wonderful.  You can see why they built their fort though thousands of years ago.  Its also a very peaceful place.

I love trees, especially Yew trees and there are some magnificent samples at Danebury. Here are my dogs around one particularly wonderful Yew Tree.

There are even wild ponies on the fort.

It got me thinking of making a tree card when I got back home so I turned to Totally Trees for some inspiration.

I've used Island Indigo cardstock and ink and a gatefold card (I think that's what it's called) which I had left over from making some of the mice cards at Christmas.  I've added some Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper which looks a bit like leaves I think.

The image was stamped with Island Indigo Ink and then double stamped with the detailed image in Versamark and embossed with our goreous Copper Embossing Powder.  I've also added some of our Copper Metalic Thread around the cardstock.

If you can see I've used the square Stitched Framelit but turned it into a rectangle thanks to Dawn Griffith's instructions.

I used the Lovely Stitching for the sentiments and also embossed them in the Copper Embossing Powder.  I've used one of the Banner Framelits to cut out the smaller sentiment.  Popped onto dimensionals just left of the tree it helps to keep the card closed.

I love the look of this copper on the Island Indigo - I can see I'm going to be doing this a lot!

As always all products can be purchased from me if you are in the UK.  Just click on the logo below to be taken to my store.

AVANT-GARDEN BOXES YOU TUBE TUTORIAL

I've been playing with using the Avant-Garden stamp set on some boxes - originally Sam Hammond's boxes from way back.  I've given them a bit of a revamp with some up-dated products.

A normal piece of A4 cardstock gives you enough for a box and an extra card.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR MY YOU TUBE SUBSCRIBERS

Check out my YouTube tutorial as to how I made these.  All of my You Tube subscribers are put into a draw each month and one winner will be chosen at random to receive the products I have made for that month!

POOTLERS BLOG HOP - NEW CATALOGUE SPRING SUMMER 2017 BOOKCASE BUILDER

Hi Crafters and welcome to the Pootlers first blog hop of 2017 - I hope you are as excited about the new products in the catalogue and Sale-A-Bration as much as we are.

There are going to be a few sets which are definite winners in this catalogue and that I'm sure we will see all over blog land and Pinterest.  My card for you today though is one of the sets you may have overlooked or not been sure what to do with.  Bookcase Builder.  This is a fabulous set of 27 Polymer Stamps with lots of lovely images that can be used away from the Bookcase style and with 5 fabulous sentiments.

I've gone out of my own comfort zone here and produced a baby card. I can't remember the last time I made one -  as there aren't a lot of babies in my family at the moment I've not really needed an excuse to make one.  But these images were just too cute to leave unloved and unstamped!  I've written the words Baby by hand with a marker pen on the banner.

SUPPLIES

Cardstock -  Perfect Plum, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper - Blooms and Bliss

Inks - Early Espresso, Perfect Plum, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry Ombre

Accessories - Linen Thread, Enamel Shapes, Marker Pen (to write the words Baby on the bunting), Dimensionals, Wink of Stella, Stamp-a-ma-Jig to align the book shelves.

Rather than have next or previous buttons we've listed all the blogs below for you to go and have a look at some fabulous inspiration. Have fun on our blog hop.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope we have inspired you!

SIMPLY SKETCHED SATURDAY CHALLENGE - BEAUTIFUL YOU SNEAK PEEK

Welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge - our last for 2016.

Our sketch by the very talented Amanda Charlesworth was a tricky one this month.  Here's an example of her sketch by Amanda herself.

No automatic alt text available.

I've been naughty and used one of the up and coming new sets from the 2017 Spring Catalogue.  This is going to be such a well loved set and is called Beautiful You.  It has wonderful images and some lovely word stamps also.

There is also something special about the way this image was coloured but.... you will have to wait until January til I reveal what I used!!!!

I've also used the Botanical Builder Framelits with this card just to show we can still love our old products.

The flower has a touch of our bronze thread behind it and uses some of the Blooms and Bliss Designer Paper.

SIMPLY SKETCHED SATURDAY CHALLENGE - DECK THE HALLS WITH MERRY MICE

Welcome to another blog hop with the SSSC crew.  We have a great sketch this month chosen by Anna Krol

I'm a bit late to the party and have only just bought the Merry Mice.  At first I looked at them in the catalogue and tought nope - but now once I've seen all the lovely creations everyone has done with them I love the little creatures.  I've also managed to grab a set of the Stitched Framelits - these are going to be like gold dust!  As I don't have any other framelits these are going to get a lot of use!

I've used some of the lovely Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper - showing you don't have to use Christmas DSP to make Christmas cards.  The card base is Mint Macaron.

There is lots of Wink of Stella over the mouse and the DSP which has made the card really shine and glimmer - not sure it shows up here really. Some Enamel Shapes finish off the card.

I hope you like my project.  As usual all products can be purchased from my online store.  If you are in my area in Hampshire why not pop along to some of my regular classes.
