Its another challenge week for Watercooler Wednesday and my second week as part of the Design Team. This week our challenge is set by Penny and is
This was a rather difficult one for me as I lost my mum in 2010 on 7th May so very timely for this to pop up for me. I know in the US its Mother's Day in May but we have ours here in the UK in March.
My card for this challenge uses Mediterranean Moments - my idea behind this card was if my mum were still here I would love to be sitting at this table having a drink with her and a chat. I wanted to use some muted colours for the background and just give a pop of colour for the actual image.
I used the sentiment from Birthday Blooms for the For You and the dots from the same set to give an aged look to the banner. A touch of Linen Thread just tied round gives added interest and the little addition of pearls as they were my mum's favourites.
Come and join in with the challenge - I look forward to seeing all your entries. If you need more inspiration pop along to all the Design Team members - do leave a comment we love to hear from you.
I'm a cat lady! There! It's official I'e said it. Although I have two dogs which I also love dearly I have two cats also and have cats since I was 9 years old. I can always see me having a cat - not necessarily always having dogs as I get older!
So I was so happy to see a cat on one of the stamps from this lovely set Mediterranean Moments. This cat actually looks a little like one of my old cats I lost last year her name was Megan and she was 16 when we lost her.
I've given my cat on this card her colouring slightly.
The challenge over at Inkspirational Challenge 127 is polkadots and I had already made this card using some of the DSP Stacks. I love these papers, they are so versatile. I've used the same paper with the Itty Bitty punch to punch out the butterfly.
Stitched framelits were used and I used our Watercolour Pencils for the colouring in. A touch of linen thread finishes off the card.
I've been playing with a new set today - not new as in the Catalogues but new to me - and I've been playing with the framelits which comes with this lovely set of Best Birds. I know this is going to be one of my favourites for a long time.
I decided to pop it into the Global Design Project 072 this week which was to CASE the designer's card.
I wanted to give this card a slightly vintage feel so I've inked the edges of the paper and the cardstock and given the bird a slightly muted colouring.
I love this burlap ribbon but do sometimes find it difficult to use but I thought it looked quite at home here on this card with the bird on top.
Here's a list of the supplies I used in making this card:
SUPPLIES
Stamp Set - Best Birds
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake,
DSP - Serene Scenery
Accessories - Stitched Framelits, Basic Pearls, Best Birds Framelits, Linen Thread, Burlap Ribbon
As usual all supplies can be purchased from me if you are in the UK and parts of Europe.
Hi Crafters and welcome to the Pootlers first blog hop of 2017 - I hope you are as excited about the new products in the catalogue and Sale-A-Bration as much as we are.
There are going to be a few sets which are definite winners in this catalogue and that I'm sure we will see all over blog land and Pinterest. My card for you today though is one of the sets you may have overlooked or not been sure what to do with. Bookcase Builder. This is a fabulous set of 27 Polymer Stamps with lots of lovely images that can be used away from the Bookcase style and with 5 fabulous sentiments.
I've gone out of my own comfort zone here and produced a baby card. I can't remember the last time I made one - as there aren't a lot of babies in my family at the moment I've not really needed an excuse to make one. But these images were just too cute to leave unloved and unstamped! I've written the words Baby by hand with a marker pen on the banner.
SUPPLIES
Cardstock - Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper - Blooms and Bliss
Inks - Early Espresso, Perfect Plum, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry Ombre
Accessories - Linen Thread, Enamel Shapes, Marker Pen (to write the words Baby on the bunting), Dimensionals, Wink of Stella, Stamp-a-ma-Jig to align the book shelves.
Rather than have next or previous buttons we've listed all the blogs below for you to go and have a look at some fabulous inspiration. Have fun on our blog hop.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope we have inspired you!
HAPPY CRAFTING
Good Morning Bloggers, is it just me with the January blues? I'm guessing it isn't - I have to admit January is my least favourite month of the year. My kids know this also so my Christmas present from my daughter was a spa day last Monday and a joint present for my husband from our son is a weekend away in a few weeks time. They know me so well.
These "blues" seem to be coming across in my crafting - I'm not normally a blues colour sort of girl. Reds and greens are my colours which is why Christmas suits me so well.
I must say though I've absolutely loved playing with these three blues I picked at random and they go so well together.
I'm playing with one of the Sale-A-Bration FREE sets - Avant-Garden. Can I let you into a little secret - its my favourite out of the whole Sale-A-Bration catalogue. I wonder what your's is? Sometimes it takes other people to show us what a stamp set can do which is why we Demos are here after all!
Anyway - I'm blathering on - here's my card! I don't know whether its the dull weather we are having here in the UK - promise of snow perhaps here in the south but its very dull and that's reflecting on the colours of this card. Honest, in real life its much more vibrant and the Wink of Stella just glistens - like snow!
Hmm - not liking this picture at all - I will have to try some more shots and re-do it if I can. I think its time to invest in a white box maybe?
I've put a list of the supplies below for what I used. Sorry to say I have used something that is no longer available in those Antique Brads. I love brads - its a shame they seem to be out of favour at the moment but these are just too lovely to sit in a box and I'm sure some of you will have them anyway. Its not all about using what's current - shh don't tell anyone I said that! lol!
SUPPLIES
Cardstock - Island Indigo - Very Vanilla
Stamp Set - Avant-Garden
Inks - Island Indigo, Mint Macaron, Pool Party
Accessories - Linen Thread, Stitched Framelits, Antique Brads, Wink of Stella
As usual all supplies can be purchased from my website - click on the logo below.
