BOTANICAL BLOOMS/PICTURE PERFECT FUN FOLD

I was sad to see the Botanical Blooms and the Framelits on the retiring list so I thought I would break them out for one last challenge before the end of May.  The challenge over at SUO Challenges this week is All That's Feminine.  We have already had Mother's Day here in the UK which falls in March for us.  This card would be just as suitable for a birthday card or an anyday love you card.

I've been inspired to make some Fun Fold cards this week thanks to Dawn Griffiths - she's always my number one go to for Videos and she never fails to get me crafting.  I've done a few of her fun folds lately which can't be disclosed yet as they are for some future challenge blogs but here's one I can show.

 I used Crumb Cake as my base and some of the retiring DSP Falling in Love papers which are so pretty.  I also used the words from Picture Perfect which is also sadly retiring.

 I have thrown the lot at these cards, there is Wink of Stella on the flowers,  Very Vanilla Lace Trim , Basic Pearls and Enamel Dots and Hearts and Copper Metallic Thread.



 

POOTLERS BLOG HOP - SALE-A-BRATION - AVANT-GARDEN

Welcome and thanks for joining us on another Pootlers Blog Hop this time celebrating Sale-A-Bration 2017.

My card uses the Avant-Garden set - a wonderful set of 10 stamps with three sentiments which I know I'm going to really miss when Sale-A-Bration ends on 31st March.

I've used a retired embossing folder for the dots but you could use any folder you had to hand.  I wanted to use the dots to match up with the background dots behind the flowers.

 
 A touch of Dazzling Diamonds on the inside of the flowers adds to some sparkle and the Basic Pearls on the butterfly just lifts it.

  SUPPLIES
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake
Inks - Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Old Olive
Accessories - Basic Pearls, Dazzling Diamonds, Lace Trim, Bitty Butterfly Punch,

LIFE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL....ON YOU

I know... I've used Beautiful You again, but I have used a few other stamp sets to make this card.  

An unusual shaped card for me this time but that's just how it evolved.

Can I let you into a little secret as to how it became square - I actually used the reverse side of my pack of Serene Scenery DSP.  Its white and shiny and deserves to be used rather than thrown away - how's that for getting the most out of your products!  It has produced a lovely shimmery look to the card but does need a little bit longer to dry.

I've also added the dots from Painter's Palette and the reeds from Wetlands and the little Butterfly stamp with some Basic Pearls.  I had some of the cardstock left which I had inked so I used this to punch out the butterfly and edged it with Chocolate Chip.

I used Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz for the inked background - rubbing the inks over the cardstock with an ink dauber.

The image of the girl was inked in Crushed Curry and just left without extra colouring.


 Craft Stamper challenge for January is Anything Goes so I'm going to add this into their challenge.

BANNER'S FOR CHIRSTMAS

I haven't seen a lot of cards made with this wonderful set yet in blog land or Pinterest.  So I thought I'd get my thinking head on and try and do a few.  Yesterday I included it on a card for Less is More challenge blog.

Today I've turned the mistletoe upside down, which is the right way up - do you get me?

I've kept it as a simple card with just a touch of Old Olive.  The Basic Pearls really help to bring this card to l ive.  I've used an embossing folder for the dots on the white backing paper and a touch of the gold ribbon on the stems.  There is a touch of Wink of Stella on the flowers which gives a bit of sparkle.

I really like how this one came out and may even just make a whole load of these for some craft fairs I have booked.  I'm not very good at doing more than one card because I get bored so easily - does anyone else get like that?

 Connie and Mary have a colour challenge happening at the moment which asks you to use Old Olive so I'm going to add this into the challenge.  I'm not sure whether all the colours they've given us have to be included but I'm sure they'll let me know if this one isn't suitable.

SPLITCOAST STAMPERS CREATIVE CREW DESIGN TEAM

Hi Crafters

Wow I've been away from blogland for a while - real life got in the way with an illness in the family and .....well you know how it is.  Crafting had to take a back seat.  Thankfully now all is well and I can get back up to speed again.

I was blown away to be invited to join the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew Design team - for the next four months - right up until Christmas - my favourite time for crafting.  For those of you who haven't found the wondrousness that is Splitcoast Stampers - you will find them here.  It pre-dates Pinterest by quite a number of years and for a while was the go-to place to find inspiration for Stampin' Up! and now lots of other stamp companies.  You will find every Stampin' Up! set that has ever been produced on this website.

We had a number of briefs and four projects to do.  I won't put all four here today - but will keep you guessing - if that's ok.

Our first project was to use some Designer Series Paper on our card.  I gave you a sneak peek a few weeks ago:

 I used the DSP from the This Christmas Suite which is in the main catalogue. 
From our new Winter catalogue I used the Merriest Wishes bundle. This comes with the Merriest Wishes stamp set  a set of 11 rubber stamps and the Merry Tags Framelits Dies - a collection of 7 dies which co-ordinate.  I'm a sucker for reindeer at Christmas and as soon as I saw that little reindeer framelit that was me sold!

I made the ribbon using the DSP and our Envelope Punch Board. A great technique to try and really easy once you get the hang of it.  See my tutorials above to learn how to make a similar bow.

 I cut out the first Reindeer and Trees framelit in Very Vanilla and then again in the DSP and then cut out the deer and the trees and adhered them to the framelit.  The 25 is also part of this set.  A touch of basic pearls just finishes off the card.
