Saturday Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge.  The sketch we are working with this week was chosen by the lovely Jillian Sellwood who gave us this to work with.

No automatic alt text available.

A little sneak peak from me for the forthcoming Winter Catalogue which goes live on 1st September - not long now to wait.  This is a gorgeous little set called Hearts Come Home - I've used some of our Color Theory Designer Series Paper as the background and stamped some stars on it and covered some of them in Dazzling Diamonds.  All Christmas cards have to have glitter - it's a must!  The roofs of the houses have Wink of Stella on them and some of the windows have a touch of Daffodil Delight to signify lights.

I've used the Stitched Framelits to cut out the shapes and added the middle one with dimensionals.

DELICATE DETAILS - TIME OUT CHALLENGE 76

One of the wonderful sets in Sale-A-Bration is Delicate Details. I must admit I overlooked this set the first time I browsed through the catalogue but now I love using it.

This card started out as a piece of Very Vanilla and I inked it up - yep I went mad with the inks!  Pink isn't normally my colour but hey - it's nearly Valentine's so love is in the air!

I'm afraid I used quite a few stamp sets here for the various backgrounds but it does show how versatile all your sets can be.

After I had inked the background I used the Versamark to edge the paper with the Delicate Details and used White Embossing Powder. Do make sure to use an Embossing Buddy before hand otherwise all your inked paper will take the powder.

I used Painter's Palette and Best Birds for some of the background images.

The Elegant Butterfly Punch and the Bitty Butterfly punch were used for the butterflies.  I punched them out of Designer Series Paper Stacks  and then inked them up.  They have a touch of Dazzling Diamonds on their wings.

I used Jar of Love and Painter's Palette for the sentiments.  The little heart comes from Bookcase Builder - and there are a few Enamel Shapes on there also.  Phew!  Don't think this will be going in to a category challenge of Clean and Simple lol!

However, I am going to put it forward for the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and do leave a comment - I love to hear from you.

As usual all products can be purchased from me if you are in the UK or parts of Europe - just click on my Shop logo above or browse the SU catalogue shown on the side bar.

POOTLERS BLOG HOP - SALE-A-BRATION - AVANT-GARDEN

Welcome and thanks for joining us on another Pootlers Blog Hop this time celebrating Sale-A-Bration 2017.

My card uses the Avant-Garden set - a wonderful set of 10 stamps with three sentiments which I know I'm going to really miss when Sale-A-Bration ends on 31st March.

I've used a retired embossing folder for the dots but you could use any folder you had to hand.  I wanted to use the dots to match up with the background dots behind the flowers.

A touch of Dazzling Diamonds on the inside of the flowers adds to some sparkle and the Basic Pearls on the butterfly just lifts it.

ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD - CHRISTMAS CRACKERS -

Christmas Crackers are such an integral part of a British Christmas. I know when I lived in Houston, Texas I couldn't find them anywhere!  They are so easy to make and although they won't pop, at least you can decide what to put in them to suit whoever they are for.  You can also co-ordinate your Christmas table with colours to match your scheme - and gift favour bags to match - but that's another video for another day.

Here are a few samples using the Presents and Pinecones Designer Series Paper.  Some of our papers are on special offer at the moment, buy 3 get 1 free and this set was part of the offer.

The Scroll and the Ho Ho Ho sentiment comes from Greetings From Santa set.

The Cracker below is the one I chose to do in the YouTube video.  This one uses the Heres to Cheers stamp set and the Merry Tag Framelits.  Dazzling Diamonds were added to the bauble for a touch of glitter.  Some Candy Cane Baker's Twine and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine completes the cracker.

Here are the sizes

 DSP - 6.5" x 10"  (16.5 cm x 25 cm)
On the LONG side score at 1" (2.5cm) either side

On the SHORT Side score at 1" (2.5cm), 2" (5 cm) 3" (7.5) 4"(10cm), 5" (12.5 cm) and 6" (15 cm)

Burnish the folds and using the EPB punch at 2" (5cm) on both sides all the way down the paper.

Now score at both ends at 1.5" (3.5cm) 2" (5cm) and 2.5" (6 cm) - this is actually just before the punch, in the middle and just after.

I hope you enjoy making these crackers.  If you would like to purchase any of the supplies through me I'd be happy to help you.  Just click HERE to be taken to  my online store.

Don't forget to use the Hostess Code for October ~(shown on the right hand side of my blog) if your order is under £150 to get free product. If your order is over £150 you do not need to use the Hostess Code as you will automatically get free goodies.

If you are in the Hampshire area - do get in touch - I hold lots of classes both day times, evenings and weekends.

JAR OF LOVE

Its cold and miserable here in the UK again, the wind is blowing and it feels like winter not August.  So I've been playing with Jar of Love again and the Serene Scenery, again!!!.... to make a lovely beach scene to make me feel like its summer.

I've used Bermuda Bay card stock as the base covered in some of our silver which has been embossed with the dots embossing folder.  As per Watercooler's sketch I've turned my card around and added some of the wonderful Serene Scenery DSP.  The Jar tag has been cut with the framelits from the Jar of Love series.  I cut the larger jar first in Whisper White and then another in Bermuda Bay and inlaid the smaller label to cut inside the Bermuda Bay.  A wash of Pool Party on the white jar gave us the water and I cut out two of the leaves with the framelits for the fronds for the little fish to hide in.  Dazzling Diamonds was added then I cut a piece of Window Sheet and put it all together.

The top of the jar was embossed with Silver Embossing powder and I added two of our lovely ribbons in Bermuda Bay and Silver.  I added some Basic Rhinestones to the bottom.

The label was punched out with the Decorative Label punch.  The wording is also from the Jar of Love set - I covered over the For from the FOR YOU with a bit of sellotape.  Remember though to remove the ink that will stick to the tape - which I didn't do the first time!!  A little embossed silver heart from the same set finished off the label.

This card is going into hubby's lunch box tomorrow - he's had a hard time healthwise at the moment and yesterday at work fell over and hurt his back on a steel pole.  Bless him he was back at work this morning but he's tool old to be falling over.  I'd love to see his face and the rest of the guys when he sees this in his lunch box! lol!

I'm entering my little fish into some challenges.  Watercooler Wednesday as they have given us a sketch to work with.
