Welcome to another sketch challenge here at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I used a background I had in my stash made with my gel press, some Arteza acrylic paint and a stencil from my stash. The stamps I have used are from Aallandcreate by Bipasha Bk and are called Little Wren and Background Voices. I added some thread at the back of the birds tail.

PUSS IN BOOTS
I've just recently purchased this set from Tracy Evans and really wanted to use the boots again - then in my stash I found an image of this cute little cat someone had stamped for me years ago from my Facebook group The Joy of Sets. I have no idea what stamp company produced this little cat but I am now on a mission to try and find it. I knew he would fit perfectly with the boots.
I started off by using my gel press for the background using Tim Holtz Distress Pain in Victorian Velvet with some Speckled Egg spray over the top.
When dry I stamped the image of the boots in Versafine Clair Shady Lane. I coloured in the boots with Tim Holtz new Distress Oxide in Uncharted Mariner and added some Glossy Accents to the bottom portion. I added one of Tracy's birds from Nesting Bird set. The sentiment is just perfect or this card and is from another of Tracy Evan's sets called Floral Friendship.

NO MORE CAS!
That's enough of the CAS cards for a while - that was very hard using Tracy Evans' stamps to do a CAS card but now it's business as usual and I can collage away.
My card today uses a few of Tracy's stamps. I started out with some Tim Holtz Watercolour paper and used some Saltwater Taffy and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. I used flowers from Friendship Florals and Worded Petals for my flowers. The background uses Foliage stamp set. The little jar is from Containers. I added some washi tape at the bottom and top left.

CAS for a change
I've been making lots of collage style cards recently having found Tracy Evan's stamps so I thought I would challenge myself and make a CAS card and see if I could do one with her stamps. I'm joining in with the challenge over at
Addicted to CAS which is Dots.
I've chosen her new set Robin and Nuthatch and have just used the Nuthatch and the sentiment.
I used a Tim Holtz stencil for the background and some Speckled Egg Distress Ink. I added some Washi Tape from Aallandcreate and used a tag to cut out the bird image and add to the white background.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - IC391
Here's our mood board for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments - what will you choose to inspire you? I chose the bottom left picture of the meadow.
I started by blending some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire for the sky and Bundled Sage for the grass at the bottom. The tree stamps are from Visible Image stamps Into the Woods.
The flowers are from Tim Holtz Flower Jar. The grass stamps are from an old SU set High Tide. The sentiment is from Tracy Evans set Pinecone.

JUBILEE WEEKEND
It has been a four day weekend of celebrations here in the UK to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee - 70 years on the throne - such an achievement. Across the country there were tea parties so this was on my mind for my card today. I've taken the sketch from Sunday Stamps and the idea of food and drink from The Paper Players.
I used some Ranger Dylusions Ink Spray in Postbox Red for the background and went over it with a stencil to remove some of the colour. For my background panel I found a blue background I had previously done in my stash and stamped the images from Kaisercraft Tea Party stamps in Versafine Black. I coloured the roses in Red to represent the Red Rose of England.
The sentiment comes from Clearly Besotted Warm Solutions.

SUNFLOWERS
Nothing quite says summer like a sunflower. My niece has a birthday soon and she loves sunflowers so this was a must when I saw it in Tracy Evan's set Friendship Florals.
The background was one I had in my stash of backgrounds when I was playing with my gel press. The colours used are Arteza acrylic paints in golds, reds and purples - I also went over it with a stencil to give that swirly background. I thought it would look great with the sunflower against it.
I inked the sunflower in Versafine Black in k and used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour it in. I then fussy cut it out - not my favourite thing to do and I'm not very good at it but it worked out not too bad. The little pot is another of Tracy Evan's stamps called Containers. I added some of the stamps from Friendship Florals in the background and cut out a few of the birds to add to the card. The Happy Birthday is from Clearly Besotted.

New Design Team - The Male Room Challenge
I am delighted to be part of the Design Team at The Male Room Challenge. It will be a challenge for me too to think of 'male' cards - I wonder why we find them so difficult.
Our theme this month is Tag. I added my tag to my card. I started off by creating my background with my brayer and a gel press. I used blues and purples for my card and used Arteza acrylic paints. I used a Shawn Petite stencil of the feathers for the background and added some washi tape to the sides.
For the tag I used a Tim Holtz die cut to create the tag. I used similar paints for the background. The feathers are from an old set by Stampin Up called Feather Together. I added some background stamps from one of Tracy Evans sets and added a real feather in the middle. I added a brad to the top and some more of the washi tape. The Happy Birthday was white embossed.

Hand Stamped Sentiments CC390
Here is our colour challenge for you this week. I don’t have any of these new SU colours so used what I had in my stash to be as close as I could get them. I started off by making a watercolour background with some blues from Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. I added an old text stamp stamped off so it wasn’t too obvious.
The flowers are from an old SU set called Nature's Perfection and I added a touch of the coral pink to the flowers. The butterfly is also from Nature's Perfection and has some Wink of Stella on its wings. I added greenery from an SU stamp High Tide along with the birds. The sentiment is from Tim Holtz .
TRY IT ON TUESDAY - GUEST DESIGNER
What a great month I've had being chosen as Guest Designer for three separate challenge blogs. It's been an exciting time for my birthday month lol!
Today I'm a Guest Designer for Try it on Tuesday . Their challenge this week is For the Man in Your Life. The man in my life is my hubby - we've been together 41 years this year and married for 37 of them! He is a keen fly fisherman and when I saw this stamp set from Woodware I knew it would come in handy. It's a single stamp but I have used parts of the stamp as layers.
I love collages and am having a lot of fun making these style of cards lately. I started off by using some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean for my background. I stamped the stamp a few times to be able to cut out the various parts with some stitched circle framelits and layer them on to each other. I fussy cut out the fish and added them. I added some twine behind to represent fishing line.
The Happy Birthday is a Tim Holtz stamp and was randomly stamped on the background. I added some washi tape here and there.

GUEST DESIGNER - MIXED MEDIA CHALLENGE
I am delighted to be a Guest Designer over at Mixed Media Lovers Challenge blog. Anything Goes for this challenge as long as it is Mixed Media. This is fast becoming one of my favourite ways to craft and I'm having great fun with all the various techniques and products.
I decided to make a little accordion fold book which is only 2.5" x 4". The actual pages of art are 2.5" x 1".
I used Two Tim Holtz Distress Oxide colours for my background - Fossilized Amber and Peacock Feathers. I smooshed them on to my Tim Holtz glass mat - added water and just added the papers. These papers are not watercolour paper as they would have made the book a bit too thick so I have just used ordinary white cardstock. Once I got the background colours the way I liked them I used Tracy Evans stamps from Worded Petals stamp set for the images.
I added white Texture Paste from Daler Rowney to added interest, some pieces of ribbon, buttons and washi tape. The pages were then layered on white card and added to the accordion cardstock. I added an extra page to the inside of the book.
The outer cover of the book was simply made with some thicker cardstock inked with the same colours and an extra panel added to the front. I added some holes to the spine and threaded through some SU ribbon.
I have made quite a few of these little books now and they have been very popular on my Etsy site.

BUTTERFLIES
As the weather is getting warmer here in the UK we are seeing more and more bees and butterflies. A welcome sight. We are doing no-mow May in our garden and in fact are going to be doing no-mow for ever for a large part of our new garden here in Wales - developing a wild area full of wild flowers for the bees and the butterflies. Already after only a few weeks there are lots of wild flowers showing themselves and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up next.
My card today uses a stencil from Visible Image - ~I used some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber and a touch of Chipped Sapphire to create the butterfly. The added butterflies were from an Aall & Create stamp set #47 which were inked in Versafine Clair Tulip Red and covered with a touch of Spectrum Noir sparkle pen. The words are from the same stamp set inked in Versafine Clair Warm Breeze. I doodled around the edge with a fine pen. This is my first attempt at doodling on the edges of cards - I may give it another go as I quite liked the effect.
I'm adding this into the following challenges

Hand Stamped Sentiments #SC389
Here's our new sketch challenge for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
I started off my card with a background coloured in Tim Holtz Distress Inks adding water to get a mottled effect. I then embossed it with a Stampin Up embossing folder Painted Texture. The panel on the front was cut out with a stitched framelit - the flower is from Tracy Evans stamp set Worded Petals. There is some washi tape under the flower to ground it and a touch of ribbon. The sentiment is also from Tracy Evans. I added some sequins to finish it off.

Stamping Sensations - Guest Designer
I'm delighted to be a Guest Designer over at Stamping Sensations this week. Their theme is anything stamped with the theme of floral or fauna.
I chose to use the lovely stamp set from Colorado Craft Company with those gorgeous olives. These are fast becoming some of my favourite stamps. I love the way the olives hang from those leaves and how colouring them can make them look realistic.
I made a background with my gel press and some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. I then added some stamped images from Tracy Evans stamp set Friendship Florals and an old text stamp I have had for years. I even found a little ladybird stamp in my stash.
The olives were stamped and some were fussy cut and layered. I used Tri-Blend from Spectrum Noir to colour in the olives.

Hand Stamped Sentiments #IC338
I started off by stamping some flower stamps on the outside of the card using two SU colour marker pens in Close to Cocoa and Cameo Coral direct to the stamp and then stamping to get the double colour. I added parts of the main image stamp to the background just lightly stamping it in Tim Holtz Pear Pizazz. I stamped and cut out the main image and roughed up the edges and inked it. I added an SU doily behind and some lace ribbon at the bottom.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS #CC387
A rare thing for me but I actually had all these colours. I started off by masking my watercolour card stock to give me the panel in the middle. I used a watercolour wash mix of all three colours to give the background. The stamp I have used is from a stamp set by Tracy Evans called Worded Petals #567. I love this set and the addition of the words. I coloured mine in with the same colours keeping them darker for the flower petals. The sentiments is stamped in Coastal Cabana and is from an old set from my stash. I added some coloured sequins to finish off the card.
On my Facebook group the Joy of Sets we have a Birthday RAK group where we send birthday cards to ladies in our group all over the world. This one, especially as it's quite a flat card, will be wending its way to Australia for a member's birthday.

Masculine Card - Gone Fishing
I bought this stamp set from Woodware Collections as both my daughter and my husband fly fish and I thought it might come in handy for cards for them. I've been inspired to use it here for The Male Room challenge which also asked for dry embossing.
I have a great stencil from Tim Holtz which to me looks a little like fishing lines so I've used it here in the background. I inked over it with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean and then spritzed it with water to add some water marks.
I used VersaFine Clair in k in Warm Breeze to stamp out part of the stamp and cut it with a stitched die cut. I cut out the little fish and added it to some fine netting. A simple sentiment finished off the card.
