Hand Stamped Sentiments - IC391

Here's our mood board for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments - what will you choose to inspire you?  I chose the bottom left picture of the meadow.

I started by blending some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire for the sky and Bundled Sage for the grass at the bottom. The tree stamps are from Visible Image stamps Into the Woods.

The flowers are from Tim Holtz Flower Jar. The grass stamps are from an old SU set High Tide.  The sentiment is from Tracy Evans set Pinecone.

Hand Stamped Sentiments CC390

Here is our colour challenge for you this week.  I don’t have any of these new SU colours so used what I had in my stash to be as close as I could get them.  I started off by making a watercolour background with some blues from Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks.  I added an old text stamp stamped off so it wasn’t too obvious.

The flowers are from an old SU set called Nature's Perfection and I added a touch of the coral pink to the flowers.  The butterfly is also from Nature's Perfection and has some Wink of Stella on its wings. I added greenery from an SU stamp High Tide along with the birds.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz .

STAMPIN UP ONLY CHALLENGE - #SUOC258

Our theme this week at Stampin Up Only is nautical.  I don't have any SU stamps with a nautical theme so I had to think outside the box for this one a bit.

I had great fun creating this scene - starting out with the fabulously versatile SU background stamp Drybrush.  This stamp could so easily be over-looked in the catalogue but I find it fabulous.  Here I've used three colours on the one stamp to create the background scene - I used Night of Navy for the top and the middle and Crumb Cake for the bottom. I used SU High Tide for the stamps. I added Bermuda Bay for the middle to create the wave ripples.

I added the last bit of that gorgeous retired ribbon at the bottom. Some Wink of Stella on the sea just to give it a bit of shine.

JOY OF SETS TIC TAC TOE - #JOSTTT020

Here's our grid for the monthly challenge over at Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe - #JOSTTT020.  A lovely one for summer, if it comes back to the UK!  The last few days have been quite miserable and winter seems to be coming early.

Saying that my card isn't particularly summery. I went for the option of Blue, Book and Triangle. I had recently seen this fold called a book fold because when you open the card it looks like a book inside. I followed the wonderful directions of Dawn Griffith on her You Tube channel.

I used SU Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay for my colours, together with some retired SU DSP in that lovely blue plaid.  I also used the High Tide set - you can just see the light of my lighthouse is the triangle bit of the grid - phew!

I used the water stamp of the set on the inside of the card to give the feeling of water and kept the style almost CAS for a masculine feel.
