Butterflies

Having a play today with the gel press, some Arteza inks and the Visible Image butterfly stencil.  I've made lots of background papers that I can use in future projects.

This one also used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet and Mustard Seed and I stamped some  of the butterflies from Creative Expressions Butterfly Splash with some Versafine inks. The sentiment is from Aallandcreate set #47. There is a touch of Spectrum Noir Sparkle on the inner butterflies.

BUTTERFLIES

As the weather is getting warmer here in the UK we are seeing more and more bees and butterflies.  A welcome sight.  We are doing no-mow May in our garden and in fact are going to be doing no-mow for ever for a large part of our new garden here in Wales - developing a wild area full of wild flowers for the bees and the butterflies.  Already after only a few weeks there are lots of wild flowers showing themselves and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up next.

My card today uses a stencil from Visible Image - ~I used some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Fossilized Amber and a touch of Chipped Sapphire to create the butterfly.  The added butterflies were from an Aall & Create stamp set #47 which were inked in Versafine Clair Tulip Red and covered with a touch of Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.  The words are from the same stamp set inked in Versafine Clair Warm Breeze.  I doodled around the edge with a fine pen.  This is my first attempt at doodling on the edges of cards - I may give it another go as I quite liked the effect.

TRY STAMPIN ON TUESDAY #TSOT520

Here's our challenge for you this week at Try Stampin On Tuesday.  You have options to just use the technique or getting inky - using our sketch or combining both challenges.

I love getting inky so I was up for the whole ink splatter technique.  I used a stencil from Visible Image with the gorgeous butterfly.  It helped as the butterfly's wingers taper into those lovely inky dots. I added extra ink splatters with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from a Visible Image stamp set called Free Your Imagination stamped with VersaFine Clair ink in Warm Breeze.
