BEAUTIFUL YOU MEETS MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS

It has been a while since both of these sets have had an airing from me.  Both lovely stamp sets in their own right but they do also go so well together.

The challenge over at Inkspirational Challenge this week is Urban - hmm - tricky one for me but then I remembered the lovely street scene from Mediterranean Moments.

 I used the gorgeous Island Indigo for my card - both as the cardstock and for the accent colours in the imges.  I used some of our lovely Copper Embossing Powder and the now retired Delicate Details for the lace embossed iamge.  The wording is from a Project Live set.  A touch of the Copper Metallic thread finished off the card.  She looks Adventure Bound, don't you think?



 

WATERCOOLER WEDNESDAY WWC118 - MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS

Its another challenge week for Watercooler Wednesday and my second week as part of the Design Team.   This week our challenge is set by Penny and is

 

 This was a rather difficult one for me as I lost my mum in 2010 on 7th May so very timely for this to pop up for me.  I know in the US its Mother's Day in May but we have ours here in the UK in March.

My card for this challenge uses Mediterranean Moments - my idea behind this card was if my mum were still here I would love to be sitting at this table having a drink with her and a chat.  I wanted to use some muted colours for the background and just give a pop of colour for the actual image.

I used the sentiment from Birthday Blooms for the For You and the dots from the same set to give an aged look to the banner.  A touch of Linen Thread just tied round gives added interest and the little addition of pearls as they were my mum's favourites.

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT 085 - BEAUTIFUL YOU MEETS MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS.

It's a colour challenge over at Global Design Project this week with one of our very own Pootlers Anna Krol as Guest Designer. 




 Two of these colours are my favourites - Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron and I will be sorry to see them go so it was lovely to be able to use them in our challenge this week.

I took inspiration from my card from a card I received from a RAK group I am part of. My thanks to Jenny Reed for her inspiration.  

 I stamped the girl image first in Watermelon Wonder and then masked her off.  I then used the stamp from Mediterranean Moments and stamped it in Mint Macaron.  I used the Stitched Framlet dies to make the frame  to fram her image.  I coloured in her umbrella with Delightful Dijon (I'm going to miss this colour - it reminds me of the old More Mustard).  I just ran my blender pen over her dress just to pick up some of the Watermelon Wonder colour.  A touch of Wink of Stella on the umbrella and the sentiment stamped in Watermelon Wonder finishes off this card.

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS - GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #80

There's a CASE the designer challenge over at Global Design Project this week and this is the card we are to CASE - copy and selectively edit.



 

I've used Mediterranean Moments again for my card - but this time the cute image of the cat sitting and watching that butterfly!  I've used the Bokeh Paper from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper - these are so not my colours but I do find myself strangely drawn to them.  I've used the reverse sidew for the stripe across the card and inked up the tag in Rich Razzleberry around the edges.

The Banner was cut with the Banner Framelits - do you know when you use the one I've shown you actually get two parts cut out.  So if you choose different colours you can make the banner as shown.  Hope that makes sense!

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS - EASEL CARD

The challenge over at As You See It this week is .. click on the image to be taken to their site.

 

 They want us to complete the phrase and say what our favourite thing about Spring is and then make a card!  Tricky?  Not when I had Mediterranean Moments stamp set.

 My favourite thing about Spring is the warmer weather and being able to sit outdoors.  I love this image in this stamp set and I can just imagine sitting at this table with a glass of something light and fizzy, yes ok I mean Prosecco and enjoying the warm sun.  Its been a glorious weekend this weekend in the UK with lots of lovely warm sun befitting my card - and its making us all feel summer is on its way.


I've chosen to make an Easel card as I think it helps to show the image off a bit better.  The other stamp set I've used for the wording is Project Life Date It!  I think Project Life sets often get overlooked and they are great for words.

 I've used some of the gorgeous Falling In Love Designer Series paper with that wonderful Bokeh imagery and a touch of our lovely Lace Trim ribbon.  The butterfly was punched with the small butterfly punch.

A touch of Wink of Stella on the tablecloth and Dazzling Diamonds on the butterfly finishes off this card.



 

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS MEETS PAINTER'S PALETTE - GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT 073

A colour challenge is the order of the day over at Global Design Project 073 this week.


 


I must admit Emerald Envy is not a colour I use very often and I only have it as a marker pen and not as an ink pad so I felt this limited me somewhat.

I wanted to use the cafe scene from Mediterranean Moments which isn't one I've used yet and thought it would look so right going on to the easel of Painter's Palette.  My favourite style of painting is the French Impressionists, Manet, Monet and I thought this image just lent itself to this treatment.

The sentiment is from Best Birds and the background stamps are also from Painter's Palette.

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS - INKSPIRATIONAL CHALLENGE 127

I'm a cat lady!  There!  It's official I'e said it.  Although I have two dogs which I also love dearly I have two cats also and have cats since I was 9 years old.  I can always see me having a cat - not necessarily always having dogs as I get older!

So I was so happy to see a cat on one of the stamps from this lovely set Mediterranean Moments.  This cat actually looks a little like one of my old cats I lost last year  her name was Megan and she was 16 when we lost her.

I've given my cat on this card her colouring slightly.

The challenge over at Inkspirational Challenge 127 is polkadots and I had already made this card using some of the DSP Stacks.  I love these papers, they are so versatile.  I've used the same paper with the Itty Bitty punch to punch out the butterfly.

Stitched framelits were used and I used our Watercolour Pencils for the colouring in.  A touch of linen thread finishes off the card.






 

MEDITERRANEAN MOMENTS MEETS SWEET HOME THINLETS

How exciting - my project was chosen as one of the SplitCoast Stampers Weekly Favourites this week!!!

 

I loved this set when I first saw it - and with the watercolour pencils it was an ideal marriage.
 
I wanted to do something slightly different with it though and really wanted to get that image of the door onto our Sweet Home thinlets.  And hurrah it just about fits.

The top image has been coloured in using the watercolour pencils.  The Vespa scooter was cut out and put on dimensionals so it looks as though its in front of the house.


The house on the left here was coloured in with Ink Markers - it makes it a lot more vivid.  Still a work in progress I think
