Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - WWC133 - Penny's All About Christmas

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

Hello and welcome to another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  I'm so excited to share this project with you as I'm actually giving you a little sneak peak of two of our new Christmas stamp sets.  These two were my favourite out of the new catalogue which goes live on 1st September and, although they don't necessarily go together, they make a great match!  All will be revealed on 1st September.

I've used some gorgeous Night of Navy as my background cardstock and all the elements have been embossed with Silver Embossing powder.  I've used Whisper White cardstock and tore the edges to give the effect of a snowy background and just did a little light sponging around the edges at the top with the Night of Navy.  The houses are stamped using Crumb Cake and I've coloured in some of the windows with a touch of Daffodil Delight to represent lights.  The Trees are stamped with Pear Pizazz and the cute little smoke out of the chimenys is Basic Grey.

I hope you visit the rest of the Design Team and leave a comment - we love to hear from you all.  I look forward to seeing all your lovely Christmas cards - its getting closer!!!!

I'm going to add my card into the Addicted To Stamps challenge which this week is Anything Goes and Inkspirational Challenge - which is asking for a wave.  My torn paper looks like a snow wave! Is there such a thing?

COLOURFUL SEASONS - FROZEN

As part of our Stampin Up Team we organise a monthly card swap with themes. The Theme this month was Disney - difficult for me. I am well aware of the copyright issues also with Disney themed products and know that you can't sell them on - although it does surprise me when I see them at shows or on Etsy etc.

Luckily though our cards for the swap do not get sold so we are fine to play around with the theme.

I got my inspiration from Pinterest from Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek who had made similar as party invites for her daughter.  Just in case you haven't guessed it its the dress from Frozen!  Luckily my children are grown so I haven't really had the pleasure of this Disney film - well I admit my 24 year old daughter made me watch it when it came out and I wasn't that impressed - must be my age.

But I love this dress - I've used the snowflakes from Colourful Seasons.  Bermuda Bay ink and Cardstock and Pool Party Cardstock.  I've also used Silver Embossing powder, some Basic Rhinestones and some of our Organza Ribbon.

I hope my swap partner likes my effort.  Phew - this was tricky.

 HAPPY CRAFTING

Watercooler Wednesday Challenge #121 - Marsha's "Fireworks" Theme Challenge

Image may contain: fireworks and text

Marsha is hosting this week's challenge and the theme is Fireworks. Wow - what a tricky theme but that's why its a Challenge! lol! Click on the Fireworks image above to go to our site and join in with us.

I had to turn to my Daisy Punch for my card as I really didn't have any stamps that look remotely like fireworks.  But I think these daisies in our new In-Colours do a great job.  The Celebration sentiment is from a retired Project Life set.  It was embossed in Silver Embossing powder and some of our new Glitter Enamel dots help to make it shine even more.  I think these colours against the Basic Black really do pop.

For all the challenge details and to share your project, visit the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge by clicking the fireworks image above.  We'd love to have you join us.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your creations.

HAPPY CRAFTING

POOTLERS DESIGN TEAM - WEEK FOUR - TOTALLY TREES

It's my final week on the Pootlers Design Team and its been such a treat to be part of this team.  Here's my final card for the wonderful Totally Trees stamp set and, in keeping with my theme for these cards here's my Winter card.

I've used Night of Navy as my background cardstock with Whisper White.  The Trees have been stamped in Night of Navy also and covered in Wink of Stella to make them sparkle.

The snowman is from the Christmas Magic set as is the Sentiment, embossed in some of our Silver Embossing powder.

A touch of Stitched Ribbon in Smoky Slate finishes off the card.

Good luck to the next Design Team - I can't wait to see what they all come up with for the next month's designs.

JAR OF LOVE

Its cold and miserable here in the UK again, the wind is blowing and it feels like winter not August.  So I've been playing with Jar of Love again and the Serene Scenery, again!!!.... to make a lovely beach scene to make me feel like its summer.

I've used Bermuda Bay card stock as the base covered in some of our silver which has been embossed with the dots embossing folder.  As per Watercooler's sketch I've turned my card around and added some of the wonderful Serene Scenery DSP.  The Jar tag has been cut with the framelits from the Jar of Love series.  I cut the larger jar first in Whisper White and then another in Bermuda Bay and inlaid the smaller label to cut inside the Bermuda Bay.  A wash of Pool Party on the white jar gave us the water and I cut out two of the leaves with the framelits for the fronds for the little fish to hide in.  Dazzling Diamonds was added then I cut a piece of Window Sheet and put it all together.

The top of the jar was embossed with Silver Embossing powder and I added two of our lovely ribbons in Bermuda Bay and Silver.  I added some Basic Rhinestones to the bottom.

The label was punched out with the Decorative Label punch.  The wording is also from the Jar of Love set - I covered over the For from the FOR YOU with a bit of sellotape.  Remember though to remove the ink that will stick to the tape - which I didn't do the first time!!  A little embossed silver heart from the same set finished off the label.

This card is going into hubby's lunch box tomorrow - he's had a hard time healthwise at the moment and yesterday at work fell over and hurt his back on a steel pole.  Bless him he was back at work this morning but he's tool old to be falling over.  I'd love to see his face and the rest of the guys when he sees this in his lunch box! lol!

I'm entering my little fish into some challenges.  Watercooler Wednesday as they have given us a sketch to work with.
