TRY STAMPING ON TUESDAY - SKETCH #385

We have a Sketch for you over at Try Stamping On Tuesday this week -

I wanted to do a Christmas Card with my sketch and went with the Season Layers Framelits and the snowflakes.  I've not used these very much.  I kept them simple with a touch of Wink of Stella to make them sparkle.  The sentiment is from an old SU set Warmth and Wonder.  I seem to use this sentiment a lot - I think it goes really well with snow type cards.

The background paper is from Kaisercraft and I've added some rhinestones also just to keep the sparkle going.

I look forward to seeing what you all do with this sketch.

CHRISTMAS TAG CARD

The challenge over at Less is More this week is to use Tags - whether they are stand alone tags or on a card.

I've opted to go with a Christmas card and used Stampin Up's retired set Merry Little Labels for the tag.  I love anything with reindeer and love how this little stamp has the deer tucked inbetween those trees.  I simply embossed it with White Embossing Powder onto Night of Navy card stock - added a white eyelet and some blue thread to make the tag and popped it up on dimensionals.

The background dots, to represent snow, is a retired SU embossing folder - the snowflakes are from the Seasonal Layer thinlets and they are covered with Dazzling Diamonds to make them shine.  The little cut out deer is not SU - I found it for 99p in our local craft store - isn't he gorgeous?  He had to make an appearance on this card too.

BRRR!

I am still in Christmas mode - this time inspired by the prompt at Inkspirational which is SNAP and by their Guest Designer Cathy's card of Cold Snap.  I haven't used the snowflakes much out of Stampin Up's Seasonal Layers thinlets and thought it was time they had an outing.  I was inspired by an all white card I saw on Pinterest.

I've used a retired set of Warmth and Wonder for the sentiment and an old SU embossing folder for the snow dots on the panels.

I decided to add just a bit of colour with the ribbon and some enamel dots and chose blue to keep in theme with the whole cold snap idea.

DOUBLE D - TWINE - A NEW CHALLENGE

I found another new challenge blog on my travels through the internet! Double D challenge and their challenge is to use Twine on your project - they have also given a mood board for inspiration - I chose to go with the greens for my card.

I've used Grey cardstock for the base and the layers - It looks purple here but isn't in real life.  I've used the Seasonal Layers Thinlets from Stampin Up for the leaves and the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set for the sentiment and the leaf stamp on the image.  The embossing folder is also old SU.

I've used a button - I haven't used a button on my cards for years and used to love adding them - it was quite therapeutic rummaging through my button jar so I think I may get them out again more often.

I'm not sure if it shows up but I've actually filled the space where I cut the solid leaf out of the green cardstock with the more delicate leaf thinlet backed on to a solid grey leaf.  So three leaves in total. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for stopping by on your travels - do leave me a comment so I can come and visit you.
