DAISY DELIGHT - CAS COLOURS AND SKETCHES

I always like to challenge myself to do the Clean and Simple challenges - because so often I like to puts lots of things on a card.

The challenge #222 over at CAS colours and Sketches this week is a sketch

How Clean and Simple is this sketch - was I up to the challenge? Let me know if  you think I was.

I decided to go with the new Daisy Delight set because I think the images on this are so simple but effective.

I masked off my Whisper White card stock three ways - the left hand was inked with our new Powder Pink ink - the right hand side was inked over with Calypso Coral.  The daisy was simply inked with Pear Pizazz for the stem - Pink Powder for the first stamp for the daisy and the new Fresh Fig for the stamping detail.  The sentime, inked in Fresh Fig is also from this set.

Then I had to walk away.  Gulp - no ribbon, no embellishments, no glitter - I kept it Clean and Simple with lots of white space just as asked.

I love its simplicity - it allows the Daisy to take centre stage.

BUT.... then I looked at it and just had to fiddle - it was crying out for some DSP and what better than the Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper - oh and then it needed some bling so I had to include a few of the lovely new Glitter dots!! I won't include this in the challenge as I don't think it has enough white space but I love the fact that you can give the basic card a make-over!

LOVELY STITCHING

I'm taking a quick break from Christmas related products - it won't be for long though I promise, and joining in with Addicted to CAS this week with a set I've not used much yet.  At £15 for 16 Polymer Stamps its a real bargain and I bet it gets overlooked in the SU catalogue for its showier cousins.

It was perfect for the challenge this week which is Stitched and this set is called Lovely Stitching. Click on the logo below to be taken to the challenge.

As this is a Clean and Simple challenge and they like a lot of white space and not many embellishments I hope this card isn't too busy.  The addition of the enamel dots proved a necessity to cover a blemish from the ink - don't you hate it when that happens!

I've used Rich Razzleberry for the cardstock base and the darker ink, an old SU colour Regal Rose for the pink and Pear Pizzazz for the green.  I love the stitched sentiment especially.

Normal service will be resumed tomorrow with a Christmas example of an Origami box using 6x6 paper

HAPPY CRAFTING
