Our colour challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments offers you the following colours to play with. Remember they are only a guideline and you can use similar non SU colours.
I have a new set from Stampin Up which is actually on the retirement list which is a shame. The wording is so apt for the current situation and the image with the bicycle as people are being urged to leave cars behind in the future. I used some Basic Gray to stamp the bike and used Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray to ink up the flowers and colour the bike. I then cut it out with a stitched framelit and added some Mint Macaron under the bike and around the edges of the frame. I must just add - May is my birthday month and this year I was treated to a Gemini electric die cut machine. Wow - no more cranking of the Big Shot. I love playing with the machine. I think today's task will be to cut out nearly all my dies and just have a load ready to play with!
Back to my card - I used some of the retiring DSP Pressed Petals for the background and added a piece of the gorgeous scalloped linen ribbon in Seaside Spray. I think this is my favourite ribbon ever!
I added the sentiment bottom left which I think is so apt for our times and a few little pearls which are non SU but look so like Mint Macaron.
A great challenge over at Stampin Up Only this week - Summer is definitely here with most of us in my part of the world.
I've teamed up Floral Essences and the gorgeous Pressed Petals DSP. I used an old ink from SU called Rose Red for my flowers and Daffodil Delight for the inside. All the flowers were fussy cut - not my favourite past-time but there are no matching framelits for these flowers or the leaves. I think there is a punch that goes with it though but I'm not sure I'd get enough use out of the punch to warrant the cost. I also cut out the leaves inking them in Wild Wasabi and I used Wild Wasabit as the base. I added a few pearls and some in the middle of the flowers.
It's time for a sketch challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week.
I've used one of the flowers from the Floral Essences stamp set this week - inked up in Powder Pink and Blackberry Bliss. I added some of the new DSP from SU called Pressed Petals - I really like this paper and think it goes so well this this stamp set. I stamped it onto a stitched framelit and added a larger one out of the matching DSP. The tag was made with a non SU tag punch and I added a strip of the DSP to the bottom. There is a brad in the top of the tag and some twine. The sentiment is from Jar of Love.
I've been having a play with the Floral Essence stamp set and am really loving it. I decided to pair it with some of the new Pressed Petals DSP rather than the Perennial Essence paper.
I started by stamping the flowers on some Very Vanilla using an old SU ink Rose Red. I'm not sure if the smaller flowers are supposed to be two stamping but that's what I did with them - stamping the larger one in Powder Pink and the smaller one inside in Rose Red. A touch of Daffodil Delight was used for the centres and I added an old Dazzling Glitter dot in yellow for the centre of the main flower.
I layered up the DSP and used a framelit from Colourful Seasons to add the detail at the bottom. The leaves were embossed onto Wild Wasabi with white embossing powder. All the leaves and flowers have to be fussy cut as there aren't any framelits with this set. I added a touch of Old Olive twine at the top. I embossed the beautiful sentiment also in white powder and layered it all onto Wild Wasabi card stock.
