SIMPLE BUTTERFLIES

A card from me today for the colour Inkspiration challenge over on Facebook - #C134  which gave us this image as inspiration and the choice of colours.  Addicted to Stamps has a Clean and Simple challenge so I'm adding this into their challenge also.

Image may contain: outdoor

I'm also adding this into the Allsorts Challenge who are asking for Insects, Bugs, Bees and Butterflies.  Bees and Butteflies are about the only insects/bugs I can do lol!  I was lucky enough to win one of the Allsorts Challenge a few weeks ago and my prize was a fabulous voucher for Stamp Addicts.  I received some lovely stamps which I've yet to ink up but they will be being shown soon.

My Pool Party ink is very dry - quite a few of the new colours I got last year went dry really quickly and yet I have SU inks over 10 years old that are still in good condition.  Sometimes different isn't better!

I've used grey cardstock for my background and a piece of DSP from the Coffee Suite as the backing paper as it has that gorgeous pool party colour.  I've used Kinda Eclectic stamp set and the sentiment from Beautiful You.  The butterflies were simply inked in the three colours and punched out with a retired butterfly punch  A touch of the gorgeous pool party satin ribbon finishes off the card.

Thank you for stopping by.

LILAC IN THE SPRING

I love Lilac and a few years ago I planted one in my garden and now it's full of gorgeously scented purple blooms. It was also one of my dear mum's favourite flowers and I remember lilac trees in the garden when I was growing up.  I'm not the only one who seems to like it either as lately I've found three of my four pets sitting near these lovely scented flowers so I decided to do a scrapbook page.

I adore the lovely soft mint colours of this paper from Kaisercraft from their Memory Lane collection and it shows off the lovely purples of the lilac.  The sentiments come from SU Colourful Seasons and I've used the leaf stamp from Kinda Eclectic on the Title background and on the tag. Both were inked and sponged with SU Crumb Cake and Pool Party and the ribbon is Pool Party shimmer.  The butterflies were some I had already in my stash.

I'm adding this one into the 13arts challenge #66 which has given us a mood board of lovely pastel colours and I've used the soft greens and the butterflies as my inspiration.

I'm also adding this into the Rubber Buggy challenge for their feminine/mom's challenge as these flowers remind me of my mum who I lost 8 years ago this month.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS - SC289

Our challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments SC289 this week is a sketch.

I chose to turn the sketch around for my card - I've used retired Stampin' Up's Lotus Blossom - I think this set missed me first time round but I've had lots of fun out of using it lately.  The colours I used for the flower are Crumb Cake, More Mustard, and Early Espresso.  The butterflies are from the same set and punched out with retired SU's butterfly punches.

I've used SU Stitched Framelits and some of the DSP from the gorgeous Coffee Break.  The background dots for the flower comes from Painter's Palette and has also been stamped on the Early Espresso cardstock in Versamark.  The sentiment is from A Touch of Nature - I think this one retired in 2006.  I've carried on with the stitching theme with a white gel pen around the edges and finished it off with some Glitter Enamel Dots.

Do have a look at the rest of the Design Team offerings and we hope to see you play along with us.

TIC TAC TOE OMBRE INKING

The challenge over at Tic Tac Toe this week gives us lots of options as usual.  I was inspired by the bottom row of Yellow, Stripes, Thanks.

Yellow is not always my go-to colour so I decided to challenge myself and as I've been playing with the Ombre inking technique I thought I'd make the stripes myself. I used post it notes again and used three Yellows  from Stampin Up - a retired More Mustard and Summer Sun and current ink Daffodil Daylight.  I also used the More Mustard to stamp the lovely big sun stamp that comes with Kinda Eclectic.  The sentiment was inked in Basic Black and comes from SU Thankful Thoughts.  I used the butterfly punch for the butterlies and also the bold butterfly thinlets and some of the Color Theory DSP.

The thank you was colour washed with Wink of Stella and a touch of non SU thread tied around to finish off the card.

ALL THINGS WILD

A few cards from me today for a number of challenges.  The first are Butterflies Stampin on Tuesday challenge has a sketch challenge with the option of Butterflies

I've gone for purple - not a colour I usually use - I've also used some old SU DSP for the background.  I've used Kinda Eclectic, Jar of Love and Beautiful You and some butterfly punches.

My next card is for a Facebook Goup called Colour Inkspiration #C132 - they gave us the following image and colours for our inspiration.

No automatic alt text available.

I've gone with Kinda Eclectic again but a completely different style.  I've added some of the sequins to the butterfly also - I find those sequins quite tricky to use so any chance to get them on there and I'll have a go.

My final card is for Time Out challenge and their word for this week is WILD.  I'm also including this in Try It On Tuesday for their challenge Nature's Beauty.

I went back to an old SU set - Autumn Days and the pheasant which I have inked up a lot over its life time.  It's always a great go to for male cards too.  I've used Watercolour Paper here and colour washed it with Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Always Artichoke.

The pheasant was embossed in Gold Embossing powder and coloured in with SU marker pens.  The grasses are from the same set.  The sun is from Kinda Eclectic.  The Love sentiment is an old SU script stamp and was embossed in old SU Maize embossing powder.  Some ribbon and some coloured enamel dots finish off this card.

Thanks for stopping by and do please leave me a comment -I love to hear from you.  Happy Crafting.

KINDA ECLECTIC

One of the things I quite like about no longer being a Stampin Up Demonstrator is the fact that I don't have to use current stock all the time.  That's why I set up the Joy of Sets Facebook Group - to enjoy all the wonderful images current and retired.  So I think its safe to say I'm a little late to the party where Kinda Electic is concerned.  I can see a host of ideas for this versatile set.  Luckily I still own the SU punches which actually co-ordinate with these two little butterflies from this set which offers an extra element.

My card today is for two challenges- Case This Sketch

and Sunday Stamps

One of the things we do on our Facebook Group is have a RAK group where people from all over the world are very generously sending cards out to other crafters within the group.  It really has made the world a smaller place and I have 'met' some very lovely people.  You really can't put a price on receiving a handmade card through the post and, after all, we make these lovely cards they should be seen and shared.  The challenge over at TGIF this week is exactly that, RAK's - so I'm adding my card to their challenge also and one of my FB members will be receiving this card.
