TRY STAMPIN ON TUESDAY - #438

Our Sketch challenge today at Try Stampin on Tuesday #438 has the added option of Birthday Fun in honour of Kaylin who runs this blog and it's her birthday in December.  I added the birthday option just to have a break from cards - and also so it can be sent off to a certain someone for her birthday!

I used a couple of retired SU sets for this - the background used Timeless Textures and the sun burst from Amazing You.  The fruit is from Fresh Fruit.  I then added washi tape on top of the stamping.  I stamped the pears in More Mustard and Tangerine Tango and went over them with a Spectrum Noir glitter pen in Harvest Moon.

INSPIRED BY.... INSPIRED BY CHALLENGE

I was inspired by Laurel's image over at her challenge Inspired By

I have had this little stamp set with a typewriter on it for years and never really used it - as soon as I saw this image I knew it had to have an inking.  However, because of the age of the image of the typewriter it spoke to me of more of a vintage theme so that's what I went with.

I have an old book I use to cut the pages out when I want to add some background interest and I tore the edges and then inked it up with three Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Antique Linen, Old Paper and Tea Dye.  I stamped the typewriter directly onto the paper but it didn't show up well enough so I restamped it and cut it out.  The paper clip is also a stamp and I used a sentiment from Stampin Up Thankful Thoughts for the note of thanks tucked into the paper clip.  I used another stamp from SU Background Bits and one from Kinda Eclectic directly onto the crumb cake card stock using Versamark ink to give it some interest.  I also used a few more stamps from SU's Timeless Textures.  I also used some of the letter stamps from the little stamp set.  With a nod to the blue colour I added a few little blue pearls.

CAS COLOURS AND SKETCHES #329

It's been a while since I joined in with the Cas Colours and Sketches challenge but I always like to try CAS cards  In my Facebook Group The Joy of Sets we have a RAK group - Random Act of Kindness where we send cards to fellow card makers all over the world.  As postage overseas is quite costly I'm always look for one layer cards to help.  Saying that though this card isn't one layer - but there aren't many layers.

This is the Sketch we had to work with

I used a couple of Stampin Up retired stamps for this card - the background in Powder Pink is from Timeless Textures - the lavender is from Lots of Lavender which I cut out and layered.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
