BOO!

I'm not really one to make Hallowe'en cards but Songs and Rhymes challenge had something I just had to join in with.  Plus it had me singing the song all day and it was one of my favourites to sing back in the day when I used to!  So their song is Midnight from Cats musical.  I took the idea of the cat and the Midnight of the song to create my little 4x4 card.

I used the moon from an old SU stamp set called To the Moon and then stamped the black cat on it from Visible Image set Curious Cats.  I stamped it in Versamark Nocturne and then clear embossed it to make it shine - although it's not shining in my photo.  The background is another SU Set called Drybrush and the added little stamps are from a very old SU set called Bitty Boos!.

THE MALE ROOM CHALLENGE #166 - SONG TITLE

Welcome to another challenge at The Male Room Challenge - this is a great one to get your creative juices flowing - a song title.

I just happened to have this Stampin Up To The Moon set on my desk when looking at this and the song Blue Moon popped into my head.

I used some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks to create my background - using Black Soot, Fossilized Amber and a touch of Wilted Violet.  I stamped the moon from the SU set in Chipped Sapphire for the blue colour and added a touch of the Wilted Violet.   I cut out two circles and popped another one behind the moon to make it stand out a bit better. The sentiment is from Simple Stories stamps.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS #SC368

Here is our sketch for you this week from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I knew straight away which set I wanted to use and it's one of the new sets from Stampin Up called To The Moon.

I started off by making a galaxy background with Tim Holtz Distress Inks using Hickory Smoke, Dusty Concord, Fossilized Amber, and Black Soot.  I added water to create the water drops and some Dazzling Diamonds to add some sparkle.

I made another dark background for the moon and stamped it and used a stitched framelit to cut it out adding more glitter.  I used the star stamps for the background edges and some washi tape from my stash.  The sentiment was cut out with a Tim Holtz tag framelit.

STARSTRUCK

My recent purchases of stamping goodies included some items from the new Stampin Up catalogue including the lovely set called To The Moon which I can see I can use for lots of crafting projects.  I also got some of the new masks as they are great for mixed media projects too.

My card today uses one of those masks which look like triangles.  I used Tim Holtz Dusty Concord for the first layer then offset them mask a little and added some Hickory Smoke.  I stamped the star in Dusty Concord Archival and added some ink to the edges and covered it all in Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to make it shine.  I had an extra piece of the decorated background and cut it out with an old SU die cut and added the sentiment in my new favourite black ink VersaFine Clair in Nocturne.
