HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS #SC380

Welcome back to my blog for another year's crafting adventures for 2022.  I have cut right down on my commitment to some of the Design Teams I was on but remain with Hand Stamped Sentiments for as long as they will have me.  I find my crafting is going in different directions with journaling and mixed media pulling me in that direction at the moment - but cards and scrapbooking will still be part of my crafting.

This week we have a great sketch for you - I always admire those who design sketches - I must admit it's beyond me to be able to get the computer to design it for me.

I've used some Visible Image stamps called Break Free and their number stencilv for my card and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I love this number stencil from VI and have used it a lot already.  The background for the flower was embossed with one of my favourite Stampin Up embossing folders which is the Painted Texture 3d folder - I coloured over it with some inks.  I added two lots of the flowers and popped them up on each other to add a bit more dimension. The touch of gold on the flowers is from Liquitex Acrylic Ink.  The quote is a Tim Holtz stamp.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS #IC367

A very pretty pink moodboard to play with this week from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I don't have an awful lot of pink in my stash - and as I was supposed to be moving home two weeks ago a lot of my crafting goodies are packed in boxes.  The house move collapsed and I have no idea when we will now be moving and living out of boxes is becoming very stressful.  I think it's probably time I grabbed all my stuff out of storage again.

I actually found this very old stamp set in with my stamps - I think it might have even come from a magazine a few years ago -it has a lot of oriental type stamps on it which are so pretty and I definitely wanted to use the lovely ginger jars.  I stamped them in Versafine Clair Nocturne and coloured them in with an SU water colour pencil in Melon Mambo and some gold ink from Liquitex Acrylic.  I used Versafine Clair in Verdant for the branches and the sentiment - such a lovely vibrant green.  I added some of the blossoms in Versamark to the edge of the card stock which is an SU card stock.

NURSERY RHYMES

What a great idea for a challenge over at International Art and Soul - Nursery Rhymes.  I really had to put my thinking cap to come up with something.  It was recently my birthday and hubby got me lots of lovely new stamp sets - how did he know? lol!  One was from Aall & Create who I've not used before.  I chose the set called Birdsong for the lovely birds on it.  This led me to an old Welsh nursery rhyme I used to sing with my daughter when she was younger.  It's called Me Welais Jac Y Do - all about a Jackdaw.  Here's a video to cheer your day lol!

He looks like a very proud Jackdaw.  I stamped him in Versa Fine Clair ink in Acorn and then used Liquitex inks for the background in Deep Violet and Turqoise Deep.  I added a touch of black to the bird and some gold for his hat.  The sentiment Bird Song was stamped from one of the other stamps in this set and cut with a deckle scissors and added with dimensionals.

I used a Tim Holtz music stencil for the background.

SWEET STAMPIN' - SOMETHING NOT NORMALLY USED FOR CRAFTING

What a challenge this one was for us all this month over at Sweet Stampin - you should have seen me hunting round the house looking for something that little bit different.  Eventually in my kitchen drawer I found a scone cutter/cookie cutter and thought aha!

I started off by using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Wilted Violet to add a coloured background.  I then took the cutter and dipped it into some Liquitex Acrylic Ink in Turqoise Deep.  Some of the images came out as the outline and some came out filled in and I thought both looked great.

I used the same colours on some extra paper and used a Tim Holtz butterfly die to cut it out.  I added this to some black card stock and added some Liquitex Ink in Iridescent Bright Gold around the edge with a fine paint brush.

I added the sentiment with some Gold Embossing powder.  I used a deckle scissors to cut out both panels.  I love how this turned out and look forward to seeing what you use for your piece.

UNDER THE SEA

I'm playing along with Retro Rubber challenge this week and they have a Tic Tac Toe grid to play with.  I chose the middle row of pattern paper, the ocean, and texture.

I started off my tag by using some cardboard paper from a box and distressed the edges.  I added a few coats of white Gesso and then added some inks from Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Weathered Wood, Speckled Egg and Liquitex Acrylic Ink in Turquoise Deep.  I added some white acrylic paint to the edges.

Once it was dry I added some Tim Holtz Crackle Texture paste using a circle stencil.  I stamped on the images from an old set of stamps by Kaisercraft called Mermaid Tails.  Sadly there is no mermaid image in the set which would have been nice.  I stamped some of the stamps onto some Kaisercraft patterened paper called Beach Shack and added some of the matching stickers at the bottom.

he words are cut out of an old dictionary.  I coloured some ribbon with Distress Ink in matching colours.
