JOY OF SETS MARCH BLOG HOP - 3D EASTER

It's time for another Blog Hop with the Joy of Sets Facebook Group.  Andrea Parr is our organiser and keeps us all on our toes.  Her theme for this hop is 3D Easter projects.

It's been a while since I've made a 3D project so I was really up for this and ended up doing 3!

My first one is a little box to add an Easter treat.  I used one of my favourite colours Lemon Lime Twist card stock for the box and some of the new papers from Botanical Butterflies DSP from Stampin Up.  These were a RAK from Andrea Parr when I placed a small order.  My box was inspired by Ann Melvin and you will find a video tutorial by her on You Tube.  I love the top part of this box which is like a concertina.  The little chick I added is a very very old SU stamp and the felt flowers are also old SU.

My second and third projects are baskets using the Envelope Punch Board.  When this first came out I was using it all the time for little projects but it has lain unforgotten for a while so it was nice to get it back out.  Both are made in a similar style but slightly differently put together - again there are numerous videos on You Tube showing how to do these.  My go to is always Dawn Griffith.
Again I've used the lovely Botanical Butterflies DSP.  I don't have the punches so cut out my butterflies by hand.  The purple butterfly however was also a RAK from Andrea and I think she did use the matching punch.

I hope you like my projects - to see some more 3D inspiration

STAMPIN UP ONLY CHALLENGE SUOC214 WINTER - NEW DESIGN TEAM MEMBER

2019 is starting off with a bang for me - I'm delighted to have been asked to join the Stampin Up Only challenge blog.  Although I am no longer a Stampin Up Demonstrator I still feel the love for the stamps, especially the retired ones which was why I set up my very popular Joy of Sets Facebook Group where we enjoy still using retired product.

The theme for the first challenge of 2019 is Winter.

I used the wonderful Winter Woods for this card - I loved this set as I will be able to use it not just for Christmas cards - trees stamps are just so versatile.

I started off with a piece of retired DSP from the Naturally Eclectic set.  I then used the same colour of the Night of Navy to sponge my background for the trees.  I also used an old retired colour Bordering Blue and a touch of Crushed Curry just to give it a dimension of light and a wintery feel.    I added the birds from High Tide and the sentiment is from Thankful Thoughts.  I used a retired punch and inked it in the Night of Navy.  A touch of Crushed Curry twine for the bow and some Wink of Stella over the branches of the trees finishes off the card.
