VERSATILE STAMPS

My card today is showing the versatility of stamps and taking one stamp and making it do something other than its original purpose. I've challenged my members on Joy of Sets  Facebook Group to give some more examples.  I can't wait to see what they all come up with.  If you love Stampin Up retired and current , and other stamp companies, why not come and join us.

My card was inspired by the imagery on Inspired By Challenge this week

My card has used a stamp from the Stampin Up Build a Bouquet retired set - the stamp in question I believe is a wood grain stamp.  I've used it here to create the picnic blanket.  I used a total of 5 SU colours to create the blanket - Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Fresh Fig and Pacific Point.  I even frayed the edges to give them the effect of the blanket.

I used the retired Apple of My Eye set for the apple image and kept the colour theme going with the embellishments.  I wanted it to look really autumnal and hopefully that's what I've achieved.

I'm also including this card into The Paper Players #pp408

BERRY SWEET

A number of challenges have had Berries as their prompt for us this week.  I decided to use the retired Stampin Up Apple of My Eye set which I recently bought.  Such a great little set I'm glad I have it in my stash.

I went with CAS for my card and cut out a frame using the stitched framelits and used it as a template to sponge the background in SU Powder Pink.  I then stamped the cherries from this set in Crumb Cake for the stem, Pear Pizazz for the leaves and it had to be Berry Burst for the berries.  A touch of Wink of Stella added to them to make them shine.  The sentiments were also inked in Berry Burst.  The ribbon is in Powder Pink and that completes the card.  Berry Burst is not really a colour I use often because I'm not really a Bright's colours kind of girl - I much prefer to use muted earth tones - but Time Out challenged us to use bright and I think the cherries needed to be a bold colour.

And, as with all my CAS cards I have to walk away and not add any extras!

I'm adding this into the following challenges:

Addicted to CAS #143 - Berries

Inkspirational - Ice Creams - My card uses the berries and the Sweet sentiment

The Paper Players #PP406 - CAS Fruit and Veg

Time Out Challenge #116- Bright

I've just looked at this card again and made myself laugh - it looks like a Mrs Potato Head without a mouth!  Not quite the look I was going for. LOL!

CASE THIS SKETCH

A great sketch again over at Case This Sketch for us to work with.  I decided to have another play with the Stampin Up set Apple of my Eye.

I've used some of the new Stampin Up DSP Tranquil Textures which I was gifted by a member of my Joy of Sets Facebook Group.  I've used two of the designs - and stamped the leaves from this set on some whisper white cardstock.  The Apple stamp was first inked in Pear Pizazz and then the words were stamped i Tranquil Tide.  I cut out the stalk and the little leaves and added them all on dimensionals.   This is a great stamp as it includes the sentiment - a touch of very old SU checked ribbon finishes off the card.

APPLE OF MY EYE

I've been having another look at a retired set from Stampin Up from a few years ago I think.  I thought it was the perfect set to use for the challenge over at Color Throwdown #503 this week which gave us these seasonal colours to work with - I thought I'd do something other than obvious Christmas even though they are my favourite Christmas colours.

I thought I'd stamp the cherries from the set rather than the obvious apple.

I've added some Dazzling Diamonds to them also to give them a bit of a shimmer.  The card stock is all SU and the background paper is some of the new DSP Under The Mistletoe - it is a Christmas set but the lovely dots could be used for any project.  The red and white thread is old SU but I love its sparkle.
