CHRISTMAS HOLLY

I'm playing with a new stamp set for me today from Creative Expressions called Winter Flowers and Foliage.  I realised I had a distinct lack of these type of stamps in my stash and this set fitted the bill for me.  I must check out whether they have matching dies as I'm not great at fussy cutting.

My card today takes inspiration from the sketch at Global Design Project #GDP306.

I used the cutting dies from Spellbinders which cut out the lovely shapes and outline.  I stamped the holly in the middle of the small one using Versafine Clair in Nocturne.  I used some Mont Marte art markers to colour in the leaves and berries and a touch of white gel pen.  I cut out some extra holly leaves and popped on dimensionals.  The sentiment is an old one from my stash.

I'm adding this into the following challenges

SWEET STAMPIN - SPRING MOODBOARD

We have a lovely Spring Moodboard for you this time at Sweet Stampin.

I have this lovely stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Choose Joy and I knew I just wanted to use those lovely wellington boots filled with flowers.  The stamp set has a stamp which creates the plaid grid - such a great idea and a lot of fun to use.  I used Stampin Up cardstock in Soft Sky and used the same ink to add the delicate plaid background.

I used Spellbinders Cutting Dies for my image.  I coloured the boots and flowers with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I added a few Nuovo Drops to finish off the card.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS - #HSSCC345

Our colour challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments has the following:

I'm not a current demo so I don't always have access to all the colours, especially in inks - and that's was my dilemma this week.  However, we always say the colours are a guide - luckily I did have some Coastal Cabana card stock and ribbon so I used that as my base.

I used the lovely background stamp from SU Drybrush which is current.  This is not a stamp I would necessarily have bought - it was gifted to me by a Demo friend - but I love it - it's so great for all sorts of backgrounds even if you just use part of it.  I used my Tim Holtz stamping platform as it's such a large stamp and I used Crushed Curry as my ink.

The other stamp set I used is a retired one called Happy Wishes.  I love this set and it's so versatile - this time I've used the Best stamp and coloured it in with Mint Macaron and Melon Mambo as the closest colours to the inks specified.

I layered them with the Spellbinders Elegant Twist Rectangle dies - these are so pretty - and I've added a touch of that lovely retired SU ribbon in Coastal Cabana edged in gold.  A touch of Tri Spectrum sparkle pen on the word Best and the flowers just gives the card a bit more of a lift.
