The weather is so nice here in the UK at the moment - but just that bit too hot for me. My craft room gets very warm so I decided to camp out in the garden in my little Tiki hut and do some crafting. I just grabbed a few stamps sets, and my new water colour brush pens that hubby had bought me and thought I would sit and do some water colouring. One of the sets I grabbed was the retired Pretty Kitty from SU. A cute one for water colouring.
I used an old embossing folder from Kaisercraft called Tiny Floral for the background. The little kitty was coloured in with Lime Otter water colour brushes and cut out with a stitched circle die cut. I added a die cut to the bottom from Crafter's Companion. The sentiment is punched out with an SU scallop punch and is an old set I got from a magazine. The ribbon is from my stash and the doily is retired SU.
I'm adding this into Retro Rubber - #rrcb135 - top line
Paper Minutes - Dogs or cats
Pinspirational - I chose the cat
Tuesday Throwdown - Tic Tac Toe - A bow, green, an image
Path of Positivity - Furry friends
Joining in with the challenge over at AAA this week and it is the following:
In amongst my stash of cards was this lovely image of this cat which was gifted to me by a member o of my Facebook Group so sadly I don't know what stamp this is from. I used to be a fosterer for the Cat's Protection and when a gorgeous ginger girl came in age 8 having been discarded by her owners she pulled at my heart strings and she came and joined our two other cats and two dogs - and she has settled in so well and we named her Amber. With her in mind I coloured my little cat in slightly ginger with some Distress Inks. The sentiment is from SU Pretty Kitty and I thought went so well with the image. I added a few orange sequins so it looks as though she is watching something to play with.
My entry for this week's Inspired By challenge is a little bit tongue in cheek - their challenge is Time To Garden and we have a lovely image to give us inspiration
My problem at the moment is that I really don't have time to garden. When I'm not crafting and looking after the rest of the household - dear old hubby, two cats, two dogs, I now have extra cats in my garden as I volunteer to look after homeless cats for our local charity. Regular readers to my blog will have read about my cats and the one I have in at the moment who has just undergone surgery to have a front leg removed - poor little thing.
So my mind must have obviously been on my cats in my garden when I made this card for the challenge.
I used the Fun Fold as a base and some Stampin Up Designer Papers with some lovely flowers on it and the Stampin Up Pretty Kitty set with the cat sitting in all the flowers - I have lots of weeds in the garden at the moment, not so many flowers -although I do have wild garlic growing which I love to eat. The little sentiment which you can just see says Just Peeking In To Say Hello.
The trickiest thing about this sort of fold card is trying to get a decent photo! Any suggestions would be welcome - I think you can just see my finger on the left trying to hold it up!
