JOY OF SETS TIC TAC TOE CHALLENGE #JOSTTT015

We are into another month's challenge over at Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe and our grid this month has been chosen by Laura Geffert.

I chose to go with the diagonal line of Birthday, Masculine and Paper Piecing.

I started out with some old SU DSP for the background and layered some of the Come Sail Away DSP with the lighthouses on it.  I then used the lighthouse from High Tide for my tag and added some twine.  The paper piecing came with the same paper and the That's The Tag framelit and sentiment.  Quite fiddly putting all those little bits of paper back in but effective.  I added a retired navy brad to finish off the card.

If you would like to join our Facebook Group The Joy of Sets - just click on the link below.  There is all sorts of fun going on - SU both current and retired, together with other stamp companies, RAK's, challenges, swaps to name but a few. We also have our own Pinterest account.

HAND STAMPED SENTIMENTS - COLOUR CHALLENGE -#HSSCC321

A colour challenge for you this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments- and this was a real challenge for me colour wise.  You can see the small piece of Soft Suede paper I've used on my card - that's the only piece I had in my scraps box!!  Just goes to show it's worth keeping every little bit of coloured card stock!

I used one of the new DSP from SU called Woven Threads for the Pretty Peacock background.  I've used Cherry Cobbler ink for the Lighthouse which is from SU High Tide which I'm pleased is still current.  I used a cloud stencil to create my background using Soft Sky ink for the clouds.  The sentiment comes from Jar of Love.

TRY STAMPIN ON TUESDAY - #TSOT417 - SUMMER

Our sketch for this week's Try Stampin on Tuesday comes with an extra element of Summer.  We've actually enjoyed some sunny weather here in the UK.  Unheard of but Wimbledon actually went the whole fortnight with no rain!!!

I started off by sponging my beach image onto some white cardstock.  I used SU High Tide to create the scene.  I then cut it into three with some Stitched Edge framelits.  The chair is from Seasonal Thinlets together with the little drink.  The Summer sentiment is from an old SU set called Season by Season and the little strawberries came from a Clearly Besotted stamp set.
