Our challenge this week at SU Only Challenge is all about Women! Sadly the wonderful set Beautiful You is retiring so I thought it needed an outing before it goes - though of course over at my Joy of Sets Facebook Group we still champion retired SU sets as well as current so nothing is ever completely forgotten!
I started off with the SU mask and sponged the clouds and added some sky colours. I stamped the girl with the umbrella then masked her off whilst adding some background colour and the effect of the rain. For this I used a retired set called Build a Bouquet shown below and I used the lines stamp.
I used Flirty Flamingo card stock and marker pen to colour her in and added some blue dots to the umbrella and the sentiment with Dapper Denim. There is a touch of Wink of Stella to give it a bit of a sparkle. A card for our times at the moment sadly and this went off to my sister-in-law who is having a hard time with the lock down here in the UK.
I'm also adding this into the following challenges:
Try It On Tuesday - Lovely Ladies
Allsorts - Anything Goes
Delighted that this card was chosen as a Top Pick for Try It On Tuesday
A fabulous collection of images for you to get inspiration from for our challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
I love autumn and am quite surprised I actually don't have any pumpkin stamps! So I had to think outside the box and made some with a 1" punch. They look pretty realistic don't you think?
My card uses an old set called Build a Bouquet. I'm quite surprised there are not very many projects used with this set as I think it's really versatile and I love the sentiment that come with it. I used it here to create my background. I used Old Olive and Wild Wasabi Green Inks. More Mustard and Really Rust together with a touch of Cherry Cobbler. I cut the flowers out with the thinlet from Colourful Seasons and stamped on the leaves with the skeleton stamp. Some autumn coloured rhinestones and a touch of Wink of Stella finish off the card.
I'm adding this into a few other challenges with a similar theme:
Pinspirational Challenge #249,
Cardz 4 Guyz - I've gone with Orange
We have a mix up challenge for you at TSOT #412 this week -
I chose to use both options and did a 'Z' fold for my technique fun fold card. I used a retired set from Stampin Up called Build a Bouquet - this is a great set but you hardly see it being used any more. The flowers are so big and bold so I stamped them all over the top and sides of the card stock in Mint Macaron and Powder Pink. The dots are in Melon Mambo. I then used some of the Garden Impressions DSP for the z fold - the sentiment is from Colourful Seasons stamped in Tranquil Tide and I added a butterfly in the same paper which had been punched out with a retired butterfly punch. The pearls are non SU.
