HEARTS COME HOME - GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #106

See I told you it wouldn't be long until I started using the Christmas stamps again - I'm a sucker for Christmas cards so I do hope you don't mind if I throw the odd one in here and there so early in the season - I know its still September!!!

The Global Design Project has a sketch challenge this week

http://www.global-design-project.com/2017/09/global-design-project-106-sketch.html

That circle just screamed the Santa and reindeer from the Hearts Come Home new set from this year's Winter Catalogue.    I only have the stamps - not the framelits to go with it but this set can still be used without them.

I used the little dots from the set to create the snow effect and used white embossing powder.  Stitched framelits were used for the circles and the Be Merry Designer Series Paper from the main catalogue.  The gorgeous ribbon is Double Stitched Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler.  The sentiment and the tree is from the same set and was also embossed with White Embossing Powder.

There is lots of inspiration over at the challenge blog - do pop along and be inspired!

 Watercooler Wednesday

Sadly I had to relinquish my Design Team position at Watercooler Wednesday but that doesn't mean I can't still join in with their challenges and this week it's Marsha doing a Christmas Challenge.  Pop along to the Challenge and have a look at the fabulous work the DT do.

I'm therefore adding this card in to Marsha's Challenge also.

DAISY DELIGHT - Z FOLD -#tgifc126

 http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2017/09/tgifc126-technique-week-its-fancy-fold.html

Its Technique Week over at TGIF challenge this week and I'm a sucker for different folds for cards. Click on the image above to be taken to the challenge.

This week's challenge is a Z fold - one of my favourites.  I've left the Christmas cards behind for a while - don't panic - not for too long - and used the Daisy Delight Suite for this card - it includes the Delightful Daisy DSP, the stamp set and the punch.  The full whammy, as they say!

The large daisy flower was punched out twice and edged in Crushed Curry with a Glitter Enamel dot in the centre.

Thank you for stopping by my blog - do leave a comment - I love to hear from you - and check out all the other fabulous Z fold cards in the challenge.

JOY OF SETS CHALLENGE BLOG - JOS#007 - THE LETTER 'W' - WATERCOLOR WINGS

http://joyofsetschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

We are into another challenge over at Joy of Sets Challenge blog and this time we are working with the letter 'W'.

This was an easy choice for me - I only have one set with the letter 'W' which is Watercolor Wings.  I decided to do another squashed card - this one is slightly bigger at 8" x 8".  I've used the DSP from Delightful Daisy and the Bold Butterfly framelits for the butterfly.  The gorgeous ribbon is Stitched Edge in Rich Razzleberry - this ribbon is even prettier in real life!

Here's a Video Tutorial I did a few weeks back showing how to make a 'squashed' card.

I hope you will join in with our challenge this week and go and visit the rest of the Design Team - what 'W' set will you choose?

FEATHER TOGETHER - GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #105

It has been a while since I joined in with the Global Design Project - maybe Summer got in the way a bit.  Their challenge this week is a colour challenge - now I have to admit here that Peekaboo Peach is not one of my favourite colours - I only have it in a marker pen and not an ink pad.  That does limit me somewhat in how I use it but it actually worked quite well on this card and - do you know - I love these colours together - who knew?

So - the colours are:

I've used a new stamp set for my card - well it's not new to the catalogue but it is new to me and this is its first time being inked up! The set is Feather Together and it's going to be one of my favourites.  I love the sentiments that come with it - and I think its a great set for masculine cards.

I used all three of the suggested inks for the feathers and as this is a two-step stamp set I was able to go over them again and alternate the colours.  The sentiment is inked in Early Espresso and the background cardstock is also Early Espresso - all mounted on to Lemon Lime Twist.  Isn't that ribbon gorgeous?  It is Crinkle Seam ribbon in Peekaboo Peach.  A few Glitter Enamel Dots finish off the card. I already know who this is going to.

Thanks for stopping by - as always all products can be purchased from me via my store - details at the side of this post.    I love to hear from you if you come and see me so do drop me a comment.

CRAFT TIPS TUTORIALS - MERRY LITTLE LABELS #Christmaspunch

I am starting a series of mini tutorials on You Tube - about two minutes long or just over just to give new stampers and crafters some quick ideas.

My first one is to look at those stamp sets you have in a different way.  I have used the Stampin Up Set Merry Little Labels as my first example.  Its a Christmas set - but there is a stamp on there which can be used long after Christmas is over and its the Just For You stamp.  It comes as a bundle in the catalogue which means you get the stamp set and the punch at a discounted price. This punch is going to be a real winner and it can be used a long time after Christmas - #christmaspunch.

The Just for You stamp though can be used on all sorts of cards or gift packaging as seen here used with Watercolor Wings.

As usual all products can be purchased direct from me - just click on my link below and have fun with your goodies.

JOY OF SETS #JOS006 - THE LETTER 'T'

http://joyofsetschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

The challenge at Joy of Sets this week is the letter 'T'.  A tricky one for me as I only have one set with that letter in the title which is Thankful Thoughts.  I do think sometimes the word sets get forgotten about so its nice for them to be the stars in their own right!

I've used Pink Powder cardstock for this card - the background swirls are from Playful Backgrounds also inked in Pink Powder.  The Stitched Framelits provided the bse for the flowers which are cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlet Dies as is the white leaf flower.

I've used Berry Burst to stamp the sentiment onto Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon.

We would love you to join in with our challenge which you will find by clicking on the banner above - do go along and see all the lovely inspiration from the Design Team and our Guest Designer this week Megan Lenske.

Watercooler Wednesday #WWC135 - Judy's Feminine "Anything Goes" Challenge

http://watercoolerchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

Judy has chosen our challenge for this week and it's one with a feminine touch.

I've chosen to use Daisy Delight for my card and used a technique which is called the Easel Card.

I have used some of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and the elusive Daisy Punch - I say elusive because it was hard to get when it was first introduced in the new catalogue.  The sentiment and the little daisies are from the Stamp Set Daisy Delight.

These little cards are very simple to make and I've added a tutorial below. Let me know if you make one - I'd love to have a look.

Please visit the rest of the Design Team and check out their inspiration for you.
