WOYWW/THREE MUSES

Wednesday again and a chance to pop over to WOYWW My first picture is of my desk this morning - what a mess - how can I possibly do anything amongst all that lot

....so call it shame or motivation but I decided to tidy it all up - it really didn't take that long - I even threw away some scraps, shock horror. When I first started crafting my mentor told me to keep any little scrap of paper as it could come in handy - and I did and I have and now I'm overflowing with tiny bits of paper I'll never use - so last week I had a good sort out of my scraps draw and threw the lot in the recycling bin - and I'm being firm with myself not to get suffocated by lots of little bits of paper - just in case..

So with that lot all tidied away - I actually found an old cheese box that I thought I might alter - perhaps I can store some of my many inchies in it - I've also got that book I found in the charity shop last week - its still in one piece - I haven't yet plucked up the courage to tear it apart but today could be the day - there are some lovely pictures of flowers in it so I think I'll use them as the inspiration for my box.

Tomorrow I'm off for a crafting day with my blogging friend Karen Missy K who I met through my inchy blog - I could bring this along and get some of her wonderful input.

Off to check out some more desks - the girls who do WOYWW are such fun and so many of them come and visit and leave comments - its so nice when people do that!

The Three Muses challenge this week is HOT. The film Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe came to mind - the image of Marilyn here is from a stamp from Cherry Pie Art Stamps. I have a lot of Marina's stamps - I so love her images.

Only one more day for OWOH so gets your comments in quick - I'll be choosing the winners tomorrow!

I'm envious of your 'mess' my beading is not messy, but my papercraft... well that is way out of control!
Good news from my mum today, she found her missing pin cushion lost a good two years ago... it wasn't that she hasn't tidied up for two years, its that she found it inside a bag of fabric remnants.

Love all your fun crafting stuff! I had to put everything away too! It is always the question how small is too small before you throw away? Great idea for the cheese box, and love the book!

Marilyn had a real woman's figure and, yes, she was hot. Nice entry.

Your post made me laugh - your 'before' desk photo is just like my desk - and I haven't tidied mine up so I'm still working on just one square inch of space (or so it seems)!

Have a lovely day at Karen't tomorrow - looking forward to seeing what you make of that cheesebox - the book looks fab, full of inspiration.

xx

I think Monroe's movie "Some Like It Hot" is almost synonymous with the word hot! Thanks for joining in our challenge this week at Three Muses!

Hi Fiona, I used to keep my tiny scraps like you, and they become a burden, don't they? I like your flower book, I buy old books to use, once you get past the guilt, it's okay. Love your Marilyn piece, it's fab, Judith xx

Lovely Fiona, just what I needed, a good rummage. See, the motivation to clear up does happen, just for me, not enough. I figure if you lifted that stamper's sampler, you'd have another weeks worth of room!!

Not too bad an example of a "before desk", but still nice to have a clear up. I get a unindated with scraps too sometimes, I saw a tip to punch out lots of little shapes from the scraps for future use, like flowers or butterflies etc. haven't tried that yet but might do it with some of the smaller pieces.

I used to keep all my scraps but it became overpowering and I avoided going through them... so I binned them and now if I want a small piece I cut it and grin!! I am also the same about tearing pages out of books - I think it was my upbringing, we were taught to be nice to books! I now buy rubbish ones that are fit for the rubbish and tear pages from them, still get a twinge of guilt though!! hugs Annette

Love your card you have made and that book looks really interesting. As to scraps I put mine in the drawer in the middle of my desk when I cannot shut it I sort it out and recycle the bits I will not use ~ Nicky no.6

There is no such thing as a messy desk! It is how most of us crafters get our inspiration! Although, I have surprised myself today by turning into a Housewifey thing! Don't worry, it won't last long!
Thanks for visiting me. I have a few spring piccies to put on my blog - maybe even later!!

Hi Fiona, late and as such I took a peek at everything else you have been up to this last week and so glad I did. Lover your inchies and what you did with that book. I've got a wee collection of cheese boxes awaiting inspiration (I love cheese triangles). And your hubby's MG brings back memories of the 1960s and a boyfriend who actually owned one (a boyfriend with a car was a rarity back then!). Spring in Hampshire sounds so romantic - love your photos. Elizabeth x
