SUNDAY POSTCARD ART - OVER THE RAINBOW

I was inspired to join in with Sunday Postcard Art this week as they are doing the challenge Over The Rainbow. I couldn't do anything other than Judy Garland - she's one of my favourite singers and performers. One of my favourite films is Meet Me In St Louis - and every Christmas Eve I set aside a little time for myself to watch this and hear her sing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. I've been lucky enough to hear Lorna Luft sing, Judy's other daughter, but have never heard Liza - someone I would also love to have heard sing live.

Like most of our great singers she had a tragic short life and all that emotion found its expression in her voice. To me a singer has to be able to do more than just sing - they have to feel what they're singing. Here's my postcard and for all you Judy fans - here's a little big of magic

This is gorgeous, the image of Judy is beautiful. I think Liza Minnelli is wonderful too, she has the same vulnerability that Judy had, and what a voice! x

This looks fantastic, Fiona! I like the rainbow you created. The words are great too. Your write up for your piece is very moving. And thank you for your kind comments on my blog.

This is a beautiful postcard. Weird as I was flipping back and forwards to Judy Garlands life story last night. Obviously didn't watch enough as I didn't realise Liza had a sister...thanks for the info. I agree she was a brilliant singer.
