Reflections

I followed a tutorial by Michele Zindorf on using the brayer and came up with this card. I don't have a reflections stamp so had to use a piece of transparency. The stamps are all Stampin Up.

K WERNER COLOUR DESIGN CHALLENGE

The Challenge at Kristina's blog this week is using the following colours:

I used Stampin Up stamp set Organic Grace which is a hostess set - so a free set if you host a party and earn over £150 in sales. I had to substitute Kiwi Kiss as this is an American colour and not in the UK catalogue. I used Certainly Celery instead as I had certainly celery ribbon and wanted to use the matching ribbon. I've also used SU's chipboard letters - which I coloured in Really Rust with a marker pen and then clear embossed with SU embossing powder to give them a nice sheen.

Sorry it didn't scan straight!
Check out my Stampin Up blog for news of a special SU offer on Chipboard coming in March.

INCHY BY INCH - LEADERSHIP

The challenge over at my inchy challenge blog this week is Leadership! This theme has been chosen by our guest designer Timaree. I had to put my thinking cap on for this one and came up with one of the greatest leaders our country has ever known.

The wording around the edge reads

"We Shall Never Surrender"

BLOG AWARD

I WAS HONOURED TO RECEIVE THIS AWARD FROM MARINA OF CHERRY PIE STAMPS TODAY. A LOT OF MY INSPIRATION COMES FROM MARINA'S FABULOUS STAMPS. YOU'LL FIND HER BLOG HERE

SO WHY NO CRAFTING TO SHOW YOU TODAY - TWO REASONS - ONE ITS HALF TERM AND TWO:

As you can see from my table I'm not the tidiest crafter - and I end up with a tiny little space to work from - which was quickly taken up by my youngest cat Pepper. Think he was trying to tell me something?

ONE WORLD ONE HEART GIVEAWAY 2009

This great event has come round again - One World, One Heart is hosted by Lisa Swifka and is a world wide giveaway with a chance to meet and visit blogs from all over the world.
It starts today 19 January and ends on the 11th February at 6pm when a winner will be chosen at random. I will announce the winner on the 12th February ASAP.

My giveaway is open to EVERYONE worldwide (whether you are an actual participant or not) with an active blog only. Click on the One World image on the right for more information.

Here is a bit of what Lisa has to say:

The giveaway portion is like hosting an open house......as if we were all living in this gigantic neighborhood where once a year we visit homes to meet, reacquaint and get to know one another. At each home there are samplings of goodies that you have a chance to take home like a door prize. You leave your name and at some point each home choses a winner or winners......and now you not only have met a new "neighbor" and you've seen where they live.....you have something that someone lovingly chose to give..... AND visa versa.

My Giveaway consists of:

Glossy Accents bottle

Stampin Up Ink Pad in Real Red

Hand-crafted note pad

Red Flowers Rub ons

Double Sided punch adhesive sheets

AND

if I get over 150 comments I will also add this hand-made Goddess Coaster. Good luck

K WERNER COLOUR DESIGN CHALLENGE

I found a new challenge on my blog travels today - I've seen this lady's work on you tube and love watching her work. Our challenge was to use the following colours:
These are all Stampin Up colours so I've used an old Stampin Up set - Garden Collage - one of my favourites. I've coloured in the flower with More Mustard and So Saffron using a blender pen. The butterfly was coloured in with So Saffron and Taken With Teal, as was the Thank U. More Mustard and Taken with Teal was sponged on some Whisper White to create the torn background and it was all matted on More Mustard. The ribbon is Taken with Teal and the brad is just one I had which looks exactly the right colour!

Envelope Fold Card/Arty Girlz

I've been having a play with some of my old Stampin Up sets today and, as they are old, I won't be putting them on my Stampin Up blog so I thought I'd show my card on here instead. This is an envelope fold card - not sure of the exact name. Its made with a piece of 12 x 12 double sided paper and I've used some of SU's Designer Paper.

It involves lots of tricky folds but opens out three ways: This is how it looks when its closed:
Stamp set used here is from Festive Four. The top parts tucks away behind the fold to resemble an envelope.

Then it opens to show the other fold - stamp set used here is Too Terrific Tags:

And finally it opens out to show the inside. Stamp set used is Sweet Talk - I love this set for Valentine's - they remind me of Sweethearts sweets - anyone remember them?

As its got Red in it - I'm going to enter it into Arty Girlz challenge this week.
